We make rustic oak furniture so we willbe drying beams from 2inches thick up to 8 inches thick splits and crack dont really bother us but maybe we should consider a smaller boiler

Hi there I've had a load of lengths of wood in my workshop for 2 years now and I'm not going to use them and I was just wondering how they are worth
I picked them up from an old guy who milled wood and he was getting rid of a load of his gear and in his workshop was all these lengths he gave me saying they were special wood he had kept. He says there is teak ,rosewood, mulberry and spalted Holme oak beams I will try and get pictures on when I get into work tomorrow so just wondering are they actually worth selling

I would go for petrol version it runs on very little we have put a plastic petrol container full of petrol in and it's lasted us a 8hour shift on it
-
How much?
-
I got the petrol version. The woodlands mill is worth every penny I've made my money back on it over and over I just think if i was going to go into milling as a trade I would fork and get better piece of kit. But for what I need it for it's doing just fine and we get a lot of wood come our way and instead of chopping it for firewood we get to make it more useful especially for all the wood turners that come in for wood
-
I think the lucas mill would suite us better as we clear alot of sites for people where we could set the lucas up and beam alot of timber up and take out of hard to reach areas whereas with the woodlands you have to pull all logs out also the thing i find with the woodlands which is probably the same with all bandsaw mills is the wave you get on the blades cut when they are get blunt can be annoying.but i am a complete newbie to milling and ive found the woodlands very easy touse and i use it alot for slicing up oak beams to make furniture out of it. Ive also made alot of money cutting up pine and larch for live edge cladding which is easy ans the wave on the cut isnt a problem when doing those. But for the money it is awesome and it always starts every time even in cold damp weather
Your always welcome to come and play with it if you want to pop down to help you make up your mind

it was strange he asked if i wanted to pay the vat on it i was talking to a uy in sweeden when i bought it and he said are you vat registered and i was and he said if you wasnt we could have sold it you without the vat on it
i did pay the vat on it but really shouldnt be saying all this on an open forum
hope theres not hmrc on here:biggrin:

south wales ive made the money back what i spent on buyin it over and over again. i also made the trailer up or it aswell.
also when i bought it they also gave me the option of not to pay vat on itt aswell
-
Yep still using it great bit of kit for the money
It has paid for its self from the work I've do but I'm still saving for a lucas mill
-
How do you sharpen yours I've tried with a diamond file but can't seem to get it as sharp as when I first bought it , but yeah it's a top tool very expensive for what it is but use mine alot
-
Woodlands mill we cut all sizes on ours even 1ft logs that we cut up for local wood turners we just attach them to bigger boards then put them on the mill
-

Shame on you Sirs - you should support the any and all of the home countries when they are playing all those bloody foreigners, what!
When it gets down to the later stages and the home countries playing each other - then the nationalism should kick in.
So, Up the Empire! Er, I mean C'mon England!
Sorry mate got nothing against English but welsh folk have been bread with a strange thing that we just can't support England at rugby! I can at other sports but every time I try I shut down and have to be reset
do these exist?
