Hi all I have a 2002 cabstar, recently developed a knocking noise when going over bumps or holes in the road,
The noise can be felt on the steering wheel also,
Just wanted to ask if anyone with or has owned a cabstar could give me any ideas as to what to check first?
Thanks Dave

Can anyone help with a Camon c8?
I can't seem to find out what size the nuts are that hold the drive flange onto the gearbox?
The big centre nut that needs a long socket?
Thanks in advance

Yeah mine are 205 as well, just looked on the bfg tyres and they say load rating C,
Would these be legal to use then?
-
thanks treefrog, i dont suppose you know the standard size for a 2.7 cabstar?
been looking online but cant find out much, im guessing its 195 70 15?
-
its a shame as i just looked at the price of the bfg's and there like £110 each, dont really wanna waste them but on the other hand dont wanna be driving it if there illegal?

thanks treefrog,
do you think the standard tyres would hold the weight better also?
-
yeah i think i will, just need to track them down, only need it to be able to carry 2 ton, which i know most normal cabstars will with ease, just mine has had the body moved back to fit a tool box,
are there any benefit of having the bf goodrich tyres? would it carry weight better with standard tyres?

Thanks, i think i will look into the extra leafs before i try hunting for a twin wheel axle

thanks for the fast reply Hamdog
do you know which would help the most? twin axle or leaf springs?

hi all, my name is Dave and im new to the forums.
i have bought a 2002 cabstar tipper that i use for my turf laying work.
it was previously used for tree work hence the caged sides, toolbox and bf goodrich tyres.
trouble is that i loaded some topsoil on the back the other day and was shocked to see how low the body went. with only just over 1 ton
im thinking its because the body has been pushed back to allow room for the tool box and therefore more weight directly over the rear axle?
would fitting uprated leaf springs make much difference? a picture of the truck is below and any help would be great, thanks
Woodchippings needed in essex
in General chat
Posted
hi all im doing a bit of turfing in a customers garden on friday and they want me to top over the borders with some wood chips.
they have had a few trees replaced and the old ones have been chipped and spread on the border but theres not enough, so i need to finish it off,
just wanted to see if anyone knows where the best place is to get normal tree wood chippings from (not the dyed brown bark style) anywhere near Billericay/Brentwood in Essex.
Maybe a local tree fella might have some i could buy from him? need about 1.5 cubic meters.
thanks Dave.
