  1. Thanks for replying. Tried to PM you but your inbox is full. Can you let us have your contact number or web site? Wifey speaking to her mum tomorrow and can pass your details on. Regards, Adrian.
  2. Hi, Can anyone recommend someone handy with a hedge trimmer in the Beverley area for my Mother in Laws hedge. She is too old to do it herself and I'm too far away. She had a poor experience last summer with someone not tidying up and has asked if we can find someone to do a proper job. Its a small job, but would generate repeat business. Its about 20ft long, between 9 and 6 ft tall, I think it is privet and Forsythia. It needs a light trim to keep it tidy and in shape and she needs the cuttings removed. Not big enough job to need a chipper. Its in the front garden, access is good, with parking right in front of garden. If there is anyone interested in the work or if you can recommend a decent local gardener or tree surgeon it would be much appreciated. Thanks,
  3. Thanks four your responses. Much appreciated, has helped refresh my memory.:001_smile:
  4. A few years ago I was shown a J-Cut for windblown softwood trunks still connected to rootball. Was trying to remember how to do this over the weekend and not sure I do. I used it a few times and it worked a treat but not used since. Is it shallow cut the bottom of the "J" under the trunk with the top of the bar, then bringing saw round moving saw upwards boring in half diameter depth, then at half way point up trunk, full bore through and up to finish the cut. In effect drawing a J in the trunk? I'm and experienced tree surgeon and am aware of how dangerous windblown trees are!
  5. If the red error indicator "G" lights up when running, does this mean it is not charging the battery? If it is intermittent, does it suggest wiring problem or faulty alternator? Any experienced help much appreciated. Thanks.
  6. Just to be clear, the question was for future non payments situations, of course it was not for someone who has paid???
  7. Yes he's paid up, he was a property developer trying to keep his costs down and profit up at my expense. I was just thinking of a few ideas for encouraging him to see the error of his ways.
  8. Just had to chase up payment from a customer for a significant sum of money. Quote, payment terms, approval to proceed etc all in order and fortunately, in writing. Would ultimately have followed up via the courts to get payment, but managed to avoid this just. This got me thinking. Having taken multiple loads of chip and brash back to our yard. If he had not paid, then the chip etc still belongs to him and so should be returned until he has paid for its removal with additional costs for reload and collection. Does anyone have ACTUAL knowledge of the legal implications in doing this? I am sure the courts would take a dim view on this behaviour, however I was tempted to suggest to him that I was planning to do this.
