  1. I would say I am quite good with things like that but its really not that bad of a job to do, just take off the pull start and flywheel on the left side and the clutch, worm gear and the bar oil pump on the right side and u will see them, just dig them out with a small pointed object (take your time) and make sure u get every bit out with a blower or something like that or the little bits will fall between the gaps in the crank bearings and will affect the running of the bearings, then just put a small amount of grease on the outer of the seal (and I little on the inside where the seal connects with the crank) and make sure u get it level as u tap it in and also make sure u get even pressure so it goes in even and not lop sided or it will break
  2. it wasn't to bad to be honest, the hardest part is fitting the new seals without breaking them, I did break one so had to order some more off ebay:blushing: they are very fragile and split easy so I opted for some after market ones with a metal outer case, I also managed to re fit them without having to split the case so I was happy with that as I only just re built the saw:001_smile:
  3. just got the new seals today and fitted them and the saw runs absolutely perfect now:001_smile:
  4. yeah I was just reading one of your other posts, what would u say was the best way to replace them
  5. I thought as much, looks like I will have to strip the whole thing down again to replace them:blushing:
  6. hi all, I have just rebuilt a ms200t adding a few new parts along the way (piston-rings-crank bearings-etc) so I started it up today and it runs great, revs out perfect and acceleration from idle is also perfect:001_smile: BUT the tickover is a little high and wont turn down with the idle screw:confused1: could this be the crank seals as I might of slightly damaged one replacing the crank bearings, any help would be great. thanks
  7. hi, I bought it as a ms200t as that's what it was listed as, it does have flippy caps (fuel and oil) an I called stihl service centre but they couldn't tell me the year, but they could tell me that the carb is a 020 carb from the numbers/letters on it, so it looks like its a bit of both I guess, I would of sent it back if I hadn't had it striped down before I noticed:blushing: but on a happy note:001_smile:t I received a proper 200t that I also got off ebay the other day as spares or repairs, it was listed as a non runner due to it wont start and has very low compression, I unpacked it, got it on the work bench and noticed the spark plug was half way out and the lead was also half out, so I pushed the lead all the way in and tightened up the spark plug and it run as good as new:thumbup:
  8. hi all, iv just bought a used ms200t, but on getting the chainsaw and giving it a look over it appears to have a 020 tank fitted:thumbdown: what I want to know Is, is this a ms200t with a 020 tank fitted or is it a 020 with some ms200 parts fitted:confused1:can I find out from the serial number etc. thanks
  9. to be honest I did think there must be something not right but as it was local to me i thought i would see if I could go and see it in person as bargains do happen, I bought a 2010 ms200 in bits in a box last week for £60 I re-built it and it run as good as new, even had a new spare filter and carb kit:biggrin:
  10. yeah I got a few good tips from watching scam hunters on tv the other week:biggrin: the best bit was when he realised I was winding him up after about a hour of him thinking I was about to send him £300
  11. hi all, newbie here. just wanted to give u all a heads up about a scam I found on gumtree this morning. ok so there was a guy selling a stihl 066 in mint condition for £300 on gumtree in Derbyshire (ripley) so I messaged him saying I was interested in buying the saw, the guy replied saying unfortunately he was working over seas but if I sent payment asap he would arrange for the 066 to be sent out to me asap. obviously I could smell a rat straight away:sneaky2: so I told him that I would like to collect with cash as I don't live far away, he then said the chainsaw was already been held by a courier service in advance for its sale but I would receive it asap after he received the funds, obviously I told him where to go (after winding him up a little:001_tt2: so anyway just thought I would put it out there
