  1. Bewty,, cheers .. pretty much ordered that lot today expect brake bands and air filter cover .. I used to hate rainy day workshop maintenance sessions when I worked for a company, now in my older age it’s kinda what I do for fun 🤣 good info cheers
  2. The only reason for the original post is that all I read is how bad the first series m tronic black solenoid is,, mine has been flawless now for 8 years,, I do look after my saws and get a long life out of them compared to company saws .. I just want to future proof the 201 by having most likely needed spares in stock in the workshop, after this long even tho she runs fine I’d prefer to strip and overhaul to limit the chance of it breaking down on a job .. I do all work on my own saws and thought as we moved into m tronic and autotune it was gonna make them impossible for us to work on and fix… it seems not 👍🏻
  3. I folks , I was wondering if anyone here has first hand experience with the older m tronic ms201t ( black solenoid ) first : does any one have a part number for a replacement black solenoid? Next question is : can I change this old version to new 3.0 version? if so which parts would I need for change .. she still runs like a dream at the mo , just planning to completely overhaul her one weekend soon , any experience/ advice greatly appreciated.. cheers
  4. nice one ,, will give em a bell in the morning ,, cheers...
  5. hi,, I'm looking to source around 250 sessile oak whips, 100 alder whips and 58 young mixed fruit trees in devon cornwall area, i need them by the 19th of dec. could anyone point me in the right direction a a good nursery / supplier please ,, many thanks all!!
  6. nice one ,, have messaged him!!,, gonna get something sorted next week,, decisions decisions ,, ill get the new saw run in then pm you,, friends that I've worked with who swear by echo always seemed to be adjusting the carb on the job,, they were the top handle ones,, I'm guessing thats not happening with yours??
  7. ok so,,, it doesn't make sense for me to buy a bottom, middle range saw as a lighter saw will get used load regardless,, the 201 is now m tronic, i know we gotta move withe the times but it'll be my first saw that thinks for itself??!!! I've always been stihl,, but only to keep all tools the same,, is the 201 a good idea or is there a proven alterative?? don't want to open the husky vs stihl debate , just is the 201 c-m worth the investment??? any moral support gratefully received!!!
  8. hey,, nice one mark,, well up for that,, gotta get a wedding over with this weekend, then will get in touch after see if we can cobble summit together ,, my smallest saws a 261,, but has been meaning to buy something lighter for a while t have a go with,, will also be a good to have a lighter saw for my girl too,, I'm a stihl man really,, day reckon th ms 150 will cut the mustard??, or should i get summit bit bigger?? thanks for all replys
  9. fair point cheers,, got the hang of a few techniques ,, guess i just gotta think of something i want to carve ,,gonna delve deep to get some inspiration,, thats probably the push i need!!!! cheers...
  10. hi ,all!!! does anyone know of any up and coming chainsaw carving courses coming up in devon somerset area,, I've been keen to have a go at learning the basics of carving something bit creative for some years now ,, but could really use some artistic experience with someone to give me a push..?? I've got 17 year experience on the saws , and years of seeing amazing lumps of wood rung up and turned into firewood has worn pretty thin,, be great to do something with them?? any leads would be amazing.... cheers
