Im not sure how it will work out as this is the first month ,
Has anybody else had to do similar ??
I am in the construction industry and was self employed and work through many agencies all over the south west region. This year after 5th April 2014 the change of law happend and now I cant use my self employment and have to be P.A.Y.E. but to get round it agencies now farm the P.A.Y.E. out to payroll companies so you can still claim expenses through payroll company by sending in your recites. So seems many changes now in this P.A.Y.E. system.

The Card to be able to work on any construction site these days in 2014 is a C.S.C.S. Card and the card now is a Green and not a white card. This is a basic card requirement to be able to even work such as a construction labourer. The questions are a lot more difficult now and some of them have changed. When you go to book on the phone you will need to order the book to study and remember the questions and the answers as its worth learning all of it as the questions are random and anyone can be put on the screen when you take this test. Construction Skills Certificate Scheme C.S.C.S. Most of the construction site go to construction agencies to get labour for sites unless your a tradesman and price a job yourself. And all the agencies now ask for a C.S.C.S. Card holder only. But even having this your still need to read through a health and safety forms and sign them and a tick box on health condition you have before the site Management will allow you on site. And to those who ask the question is it worth it the answer is YES, why because you never get to work on most sites now around the country and certainly wont be able to work on the Big National Construction company sites.

You Can get work on all construction sites in the U.K. with a C.S.C.S. Card. The Card Colour now is Green for a C.S.C.S. This is the basic requirement now to be able to work on a site even as a labourer. You still need to have a health and safety induction before being allowed on any site these days. And certainly cannot work for any of the Big National Construction companies without a C.S.C.S. Card. 99% of advertised work from construction agencies for workers for construction sites require a C.S.C.S. card and you must have also your own PPE. The Questions and Answers a much harder now than when they were first introduced and you will need to study and obtain a book at the time of booking to make shaw you learn all the questions and answers as they are random.
