  1. Hi I wonder if anyone can help. My blue atlas cedar has been loosing needles continuously for the last few months and I am continuously brushing them up off the decking - they are everywhere! In the borders, all over the outside table and chairs - help! Having looked at other forums, I don't think it is diseased as it is still looking healthy, however, there is a lot of sap on the bark. A few years ago it did get a good dose of tree surgery as it was so tall and straggly and the only other thing I feel is worth mentioning is in the early summer, we put a long nail in it to secure a hook for a washing line - could that be the reason? All comments will be gratefully received. Many thanks Eileen
