  1. Yh I've learnt how to splice New England hi vee and wire cores and a couple of easy bits. Truth be told I love it but I'm not allowed to use them where I contract because the splices are no ce approved. Really silly given a splice is far less likely to fail than a knot and I spliced all my kit before I got told haha
  2. Yh I suppose it's never gunna be as compact as a splice. In fact i don't know if it would make it through a pulley saver and that would be annoying. I might have to just buy a sailing one and see one in the flesh to find the pro's and con's
  3. Wicked do you know if these are something that you could use at work or would they not satisfy loler? I no that splicing ropes can be a delicate subject with ce regs that's why I thought about this.
  4. has anyone ever considered how awesome it would be if someone adapted the splice clamps used for boat rigging to become a purpose made piece of climbing equipment! this would mean anyone could put a splice on there rope in seconds! once a rope is damaged it could be shortened and the clamp reused. saving money and hassle! prusik loops, split tails, lanyards, climbing lines, eye 2 eyes hitches all possible in seconds! I cannot be the only person that would love to see this become a product. these could make every arborists life that little smoother and ultimately cheaper! all it would take is for the right person to take this idea and make it happen. it couldn't be a hard thing for dmm to produce surly. if anyone knows someone able to make this product happen please do! I and many others would like to buy them haha
