Dear all at arb talk.
Hi guys I'm Paul beckett a newbie on here who is a garden user of chainsaws for occasional firewood cutting.
I've got a hand me down 110 as per the title of the post and am looking at replacing the brake sear assembly on it. I.e is failing to latch probably from years of use and obviously can't seem to get the bits here now as it's an old saw.
I've heard that the makita dcs430 may be a replacement donor brake plate. Can anyone cast any light on whether this is true before I try to get new old stock from across the pond in uncle sams territory?
Any advice much appreciated.
Best regards

Panel wipe as fuel?

Okay panel wipe, cooking petrol, Coleman and optimus fuel which yes will Flash fry a cow in 20 seconds on your brew up stove most definitely isn't designed for engine use.
I.e there's no upper cylinder lubricant in it (like you get in easy start). This probably in hindsight isn't too much of a problem in most saws because they're pre mix, but it'll burn out anything 4 stroke that's for sure! It runs hotter ( therefore it will shorten the life of air cooled engines ) and may be more prone to detonation than conventional 4 stroke pump fuel.
Best to leave it to the campers.
If you're after exotic petrol get your saw on some avgas with a 25:1 mix of Castrol R.
leaded is lovely. .......... mm mm mm. !
