  1. If you were to look at my profile you would see I run a company in Norway...

Hence my question, I was trying to be helpful.

Maybe it’s because I am on the App I could not see any information on your page as I did look. The wording of your question maybe threw me off also. Have pm’d you, cheers Rich.
  2. Cheers guys, I haven't studied in a while but i have done to a uni standard in engineering so could dust off the cobwebs. Would you say you could go straight to the level 4 without doing the level 2? I have a good bit of practical experience but very limited knowledge on biology, disease and that side of things. Myerscough says its a year online for either course. Again any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  3. 200t, 550 and 372 with 24" bar all great saws in their own right. Love everyone of them such a good setup. Only saw that i would say compares to anyone of them is the stihl 461. I would maybe consider getting a bigger saw and then put a 20" on the 372 but seems to pull fine, tiny bit slow in proper hard wood.

  4. Hi, not to be patronising but do you follow the hot start instructions? ie 5 pumps half choke? I know older foke that are used to normal non electronic carbs struggle starting the modern saws at times. I find every saw has its own slightly different starting routine.

  5. Hello any help here would be greatly appreciated from people who are currently doing it or have completed it all ready, please throw in your two cents.

I have been in the industry for a couple of years now, I am capable at climbing and looking to further my knowledge of the industry. I was looking at the level 2 rfs course, I see there are a number of places that do it (myers, hcc). I am looking to do it purely online as I stay in Scotland and sub contract my weeks out.

Sorry if this has been posted about but i could only find very old info through the search function.

    Cheers

  6. Hi old thread but anyone know the komet butterfly 2 lifespan or if it would be under any warranty, stitching attaching the padding has ripped at the front in between the buckle and side d stitching on the nylon part looks solid though

  7. How did you get on with this? I was thinking of doing the same, you definitely need a different elbow tube like adw all ready said. I was also looking for a felling spike for the side casing side but cant seem to find one in the uk.

  8. haha "techshite" love it. Thanks for the replies looks like you all know who the culprit is. fair to say i shat myself when it happened today was lucky not to get hit by the chain whipping about.

  9. Iv had a recurring problem with a 540t pretty much new just wondering if anyone has had the same problem.

So a couple times the side casing has just come off and the chains jumped off when cutting. Today in a euc when cutting, the side casing burst off chain whipping all over the place bar fell out the tree was mayhem.

So yeah anyone else had this problem, its destroyed 4 chains now. When you go to put them back on a theres always one or two links that have gone stiff/ jammed.

    cheers

  10. Cheers, yeah the cap is still on it. Where should the LA screw be? Its pretty much impossible to adjust the idle if the saw wont idle though. Really not sure whats happened to it as it was running really well and idling pretty well now it wont idle at all. has new fuel lines in it.

  11. Hi i was wondering if someone could help me out, i have a rebuilt ms200t it was working well after it got broke in. Can someone tell me how to tune the carb without a tacho, iv had a look online but everything seems to be different.

At the moment the saw runs but will not idle, iv been messing about with it and made it worse. I put the l screw fully clockwise then a full turn back anticlockwise and put the h screw fully anticlockwise. Not sure where to put the LA screw as the range of adjustment on it is huge.

    Cheers

  12. It connects to a tit on the bottom of the top handle housing underneath the carb, it faces 90 degrees to the top handle ie towards the starter side

Cheers for that htb, kicking myself for not seeing it now.

  13. Hi wondering if you could please help me out, rebuilding a ms200t for the first time. Im getting on ok, one stupid thing i did was to forget where the impulse line goes. I have the end of the wee hose on the crankcase just below where the cylinder sits, im not sure where the other end goes. Iv looked through an online manual but couldn't see it. The only place i can see it might go is through the bottom of the handle and connecting roughly to the tank breather, but i have a feeling this isnt right. Any help whould be much appreciated.
