I've got 2 of them, love them both. Will be getting an m-tronic when they arrive.
-
Yeah, 'twas big! Nice directing of "weightless" limbs/stems when they're falling.
-
I know a bloke who carried his one and a half tonne digger in his tranny no bother.
If it were me I'd place some kind of support like wooden struts under the rear of the tipper body while loading.
Was a single cab mind but all the same I don't see why not.
You might be a bit overloaded but who isn't most of the time?
-
Chris,I'm sure you've thought of this but most agricultural engineers would find this sort of thing child's play, maybe go to the place where I bought that GM. I reckon they'd sort it.
-
Extraordinary stuff, good work.
-
Thanks, I'll follow the advice! (Are you sure you watched the whole hour and a half?)
-
'94 transit crew cab tipper have had it nearly 7 yrs on 4th lump though and several props (lots of towing) few days of the rd but most stuff done within a day. Been looking at lr hi cap to replace but want 200tdi so I can get easy fix, seems any number of minor things can cause great expense on modern vehicles
4th engine! Several props! And you still like old vehicles?
-
Could you just précis it into a paragraph or two for us?
-
I think this thread will run and run. Great pictures all.

I have Stephan, believe me.

New is better.
-
Only if you put your prices up Stephan!

Getting it accessible to a lorry is the big stumbling block.
Oh well, it's not going anywhere soon.
-
Hmmm another cunning plan scuppered, thanks.

Thought this might be handy Huck:001_smile:

So I've been thinking about this, and maybe converting it to kindling is a money maker/get rid of it. Plus a good rainy day job.
What would be a good machine to convert it to kindling, I reckon a tractor driven device would be best, I can source a decent HP tractor no bother.
Here's a pic, there's a lot more than this hidden under the brambles, Cedar, spruce, willow, fir, usual stuff.

I'm doing what you are thinking of doing..
I got a transit van with ramps, cut down the weight alot, using aluminium frame.
I charge 290 for 8 hours of work, thats with a predator 38 rx and myself.
with that 8 hours you get me working non stop without taking a break, and i will do my very best to make sure i do a good job.
In that price i take away 150 pounds for diesel for van, teeth, petrol, and putting by money for breakdowns in future.
Stephan that is crazy cheap! You fork out 15000 for a machine to earn a maximum of 140 quid a day?
-
They charge what the market will bear, husqvarna charge a comparable price for comparable models.
-
Is this Grindr?
-
Ok, understood.
I'm sure many of us have different rigging lines for different situations.
Ranging from old climbing line with a few nicks and a Krab on the end to nearly new proper "bull rope"
-
Natural crotch for light to medium rigging is fine, especially if you're changing the rigging point all the time. I've used that big blue rope for years without a pulley, as long as it's not too big or run too fast it's fine.
Xrings or a pulley for the big stuff.
-
anyone using the old rope through the fork technique these days needs retiring.
Only came here to say well done on pushing 70k on the thread adam, good job
And to pass opinion of course.
Nothing wrong with natural crotch rigging.
-
Take the saw to a shop, plonk it on the counter, ask for a new chain, 20 quid.
-
Replace them regularly, which is something I should do actually. Neither of mine close without assistance.

Standard stuff, previously topped spruce behind school, stripped, chipped and rung up by lunchtime.
Nice blue sky picture for you.
