Thank you spud, you are a star. Much appreciated. As for the other comments, I do build car engines for a living for the biggest car manufacturer. It's about experience not what you study.

Hi spud, sorry to be a pain. The crank case was full of water and the fuel tank is full of little saw bits and the same with the carburettor. My question is(if you don't mind me asking for your help) what do you think of this cylinder? The piston is scored on the exhaust side so that will have to be replaced but I could do with not replacing the cylinder ?

Hi Dan, no it's not fuel it is watery. The feel of the liquid is like water and it doesn't ignite as I lit the lighter on it. It's an MS360 year 2003. I am puzzled with this water unless it was left outside in the rain and the water got in through from somewhere. If I take the filter off and tip the saw backward, few drops of watery liquid comes out. [ame] [/ame] that's the link to a little video of the saw. Also when you move the piston down you can't see the ring thread on top. Thanks for your comment

Hello, I am after some opinions please. Has anyone had an experience with similar saw like this one? Also, there is water like fluid coming out of the carburettor/air filter. This chainsaw has a scored piston, however when you look through the exhaust it looks like the cylinders intake side is smooth.
  7. 18 Stoner I am changing the piston and cylinder anyway as the saw has seized. However your suggesting sounds great, might be the next move after figuring out which piston and cylinder are going on. Thank you for all the replies.
  8. Thanks Spud, it's just a thought at the moment. Thought the 50mm piston is for 038 but it's obviously not. From what I have read/researched you can actually upgrade"overhaul" the ms 360 however the piston would need machining to fit. Thank you for your reply

  10. They are the 440 and the 044 ones which are 50mm. Not sure wether it's ok to post a link or not on here(eBay link)
  11. Hello everyone, I firstly like to say hello as I am new to this forum. I am after some advice if anyone can help. I have got a Stihl ms360 and I was wondering if anyone has changed a P&C on these. The standard replacements are 48mm and I was thinking about replacing it with a 50mm. Is this possible without having to machine anything or modify the parts. Thank you in advance. Jay
