  1. Thanks for all your help. Top Spur gear is wobbly, removed circlip but won't budge? Is there something on the back I should be aware of or can I have another go with a gear puller? Seems daft putting something where u can't see or reach?
  2. Managed to free it all up. Where does the washer fit in the sequence? Roller end or uv joint end?
  3. Had a few hours the weekend so fetched the top roller and shaft off. Got the bolts out but the roller is solid. Bearing in the "block" have definately had it. Got a 10 tonne press which hasnt managed to move it, any ideas? Whats the worst case cost of new shaft, roller and block?
  4. Managed to get some time to change the bearing. Nice and easy. Side cover off. Release the tension cable. Undo the 3 bolts, slide bearing off. Slide new one on and reassemble. Quick question, the top roller shaft runs through a block, seems a bit sloppy, is there a seperate bearing in the block to replace or complete swap. Best way to tackle?
  5. How much did a new shaft cost you? Its £45 ish for the bearings per side
  6. Mine is a 2004 model. It has a black plastic ball bearing cage and 3 bolt mounting it to the housing. An hour sounds great even if the tips are via PM. Ta
  7. I'm goin to change the lower roller bearings on my 530di. Any words of wisdom? Any special tools required? I'll post some pics as I go
  8. That would be great, otherwise I'm going to have to make some I think
  9. Hi, recently bought one of the STM-25's in need of some tlc. Any idea where I can get cables for it as it tends to creep and the handbrake cable is gone too? Local arb store said I'd struggle!
  10. Any idea if I need to replace the bearings?
  11. Just fitted one on mine this week. Stainless steel from redwoods for £25. Quick question though, the top roller seems to have dropped and the yolk and gap above is now visible when looking down the chute. Does this sound like a bearing issue or a build up of crud?
