  1. Just on the iphone through google? Yes got CS 30,31,32,38,39,40,41,47 mewp, UA1,2.1, 2.2, 2.3 and 6yrs on the job but working for others (that are very secretive about job specs and pricing) and not for myself. Just getting work for myself now after 6yrs experience. I have access to climbers for AR that can do the grounds.
  2. How do you get pictures up from the phone?? It asks for a link??
  3. Thanks Kentjames. I think your right about the two days. Thats something i was thinking of saying one day and not finishing! The logging and carrying is where most of the time will go i think.
  4. Think I'll pay them for the privilege of doing the job then :-)
  5. It is safe to rig/lower and will be cutting in sensible size sections. allso i forgot to mention the job has a round journey of 75miles. The cavity is the reason for taking the tree out. But really looking for what would be a average price charged for a dismantle on a tree this size, its allso the logging thats going to take up time.
  6. Hi chris I have photos on my iphone but dont know how to post them?? It can be done in a day i think with a good groundsman on the lowering block etc. It would be a full 8am - 4:30pm day at this time of year.
  7. Hi. Was wondering if someone could help with a job i need pricing. The job is a dismantle on a Ash tree with a big decay cavity in the stump and root system but is safe to climb. Its quite a big tree at around 45-50ft with 3 main stems forking from the main trunk. Will have to rig and lower quite a bit of timber as there are two fences and a gate that's typically just recently been put up. On the plus side no need for chipper as the smaller tips are stack and mash, but the rest is to be logged up for firewood in 10" logs plus carried from the drop zone about 30ft. Will probably need a groundsman with CS30/31. Many thanks
  8. Hi, I'm quite new to this line of work. I'm currently holding the CS 30 31 32 38 39. I'm self employed and have been working for a tree specialist now for 7 months on the ground and climbing (storm damage, dead wooding, section felling, rigging) I am getting offered more and more work myself now. I went to see a job........5 fairly big ash trees and one sycamore and all will need climbing, limbing and section fell to stump. The main stem to be disked to logs and limbs cut to managable lengths and stacked. The smaller stuff is just stack and mash. I've said I would get back to her with a price, she wants me to do the job anyway but I want to be fair to her and myself Any tips greatly appreciated Many thanks
  9. Hi I would like some advice on which basic climbing gear to go for, for basic tree climbing work. I'm currently going through my CS38/39 and will need my own gear once completed the course & passed the assesment What make of harnesses and ropes etc are the best value? Many thanks
  10. Is CS32 a fell medium/large tree only course?? or does it include the windblow and processing the tree i,e limbing etc. CS32 seems a obvious procession from 30/31..........but at £450-£500 for the course it's quite steep whereas porceeding to 38-39 and be able to fell a sectioned/removed crown tree with that qualification seems the way to go maybe????
  11. Once Ive passed the 30/31 and went on to climbing/aerial rescue and cut from rope......would it still mean I couldnt cut or fell any wood/tree over 380mm diameter? If i climbed to trim a tree down in sections......once I reached the 380mm max....would that mean I couldnt carry on with the job???
  12. Great thank you. Is it normall for some training firms not to do a specific course/training?? They do the rest but not this one? it seems quite odd not to do the CS32 as most trees felled are over 380mm.
  13. Hello I'm new to the forum. I'm currently undergoing the CS30/31 (CLMC 44x) training course and assesment. After completing this course I've been recommended to do the CS38/39 (CLMC 48x) I've looked on thee training website and there's no sign of the CS32 course. Is it a problem to do the 38/39 without doing the CS32? many thanks
