Where about in the world are you gdh?
I'm looking for cordwood in the Oswestry area if that's of any interest to you?
-
Guys I'm once again looking to stock up on cordwood. I'd even take the likes of conifers etc.
-
What do you use the 365 for? If it's really, really light use then yes, I would think about grabbing the back-handle 536. If you regularly cut reasonable size logs etc then I think losing the 365 would be foolish.
I cut all kinds, and some quite large.
I'll be honest, after looking at the battery saws there's nothing more than 14" bar size recommended, so dead in the water before starting!

Hi guys,
I'm looking for a new hedge-cutter, and I'm interested in possibly going battery.
It only seems worth the jump if I consider selling the 365 and buying a new chainsaw in battery form too, other wise the battery cost isn't much worth it at the moment.
I was wondering what the second hand value of a Husqvarna 365 X Torq chainsaw (70.7cc) purchased from F.R. Jones in 2014 might be? Only used in latter 2015 early 2016. I'd say she's had around 15-20 hours use in total so far, and has only been run on Aspen.

Still looking for more now the first lot has been split and stored.

I get all my cordwood from Tom at
Give him a ring as he's pretty flexible, he works across Shropshire and Cheshire so best give him a ring with your requirements.

We have a open plan, and it does help move heat towards the rear of the rooms.
A quick warning, while people have recommended the stove be hot, you can't have it off the scale hot as it will burn the motor out on the fan.

A friend of the family was telling us his sales have been higher than normal.
It seems that casual users are buying more than normal, as the gas is being left off all day, hence just a fire of an evening, where as they would normally have the fire on only in the colder spells.
Although to be fair, he doesn't have any customers that go through a lot of wood, most of his are the casual user market.

Well I made a bit of a fool of myself
Turns out the Mrs got really annoyed that I might have ended up with £400 for 4 tonnes of wood so she phoned the arb. He was mortified when he found out that it wasn't clear that this was the first lot so that I could get on with some sawing. In fact there's another minimum of 8 tonnes to come with no more softwood, it's going to be pretty much all Ash, Hawthorn with some Oak too.
I guess that £400 for 12 tonnes (9-10 in hardwood) is a whole lot better of an outcome!

Pffft that's Kronospan's reserve pile

What's a fair amount to offer for the load then guys?

This is what I purchased last year for £180, although I fetched it all myself in the trailer. This year I asked for £400 worth, as I've a couple of years of logs to chop andseason.
He said he didn't really have softwood to give so would mostly be hardwood and some soft for me to chop into kindling. This is what he's got. I feel it's a little light compared to last years?
-
This for personal use? There's not much there, fair few tiddly thin bits. 4 tonne? I'm not sure.
Yeah it's for personal use, there's no timber going around in cord to buy, so it's the local arb or nothing really.
He's wanting £400 for this lot delivered.
-
Afternoon all.
I was wondering if you guys might be able to give a rough estimate of what this lot is worth? I'm about to purchase it delivered from about 2 miles away via tractor and grab trailer. I'd hazard a weight of around 4 tonnes?
I'm guessing the greener wood is Beech, and the browner being a Leylandii?
Any input is much appreciated.

Purchased mine from : Handy Pro Heavy Duty Electric Log Splitter (THPLS7TE) - Log Splitters - from only 489.95 delivered! as it seemed the cheapest.
If you Quidco they have 5% cashback from Cupar too which has tracked on mine. The 4 way splitter head is as cheap as you'll get it too as long as prices haven't changed in the last couple of months.

With a little one on the way we decided to purchase a splitter instead of chopping all the wood by hand, having had a look around I ended up with a Handy THPLS7TE.
I picked the electric version due to it being a couple of hundred less, also having solar panels fitted it means I can make some use of the generation.
Found the 7 Tonne version for sale at £489.95 with a free 4 way splitter worth £16. I've then had 5% cashback through quidco, and 5% cashback via Amex card, so all in all it will only have set me back around low £400.
I've tested it with some of last years wood and so far it's not missed a beat, and it will suit my needs just fine.

Still looking if anyone has any.
-
We used around 8m3 with the fire on most evenings, with it also being on all day say 35% of the time, very minimal gas use.
That was 50/50 conifer and then various hardwood. Although we did buy in some coal for the last month of so.
-
Any chance of paying to get it delivered to SY11 3DG area?
-
Good morning guys.
With the news of a little one on the way, I'm looking at planning ahead for having no spare time for a couple of years. So, I'm looking at getting in a couple years worth of wood at least to start sawing and chopping now.
If anyone has some arb waste for collecting locally, or delivery available for further afield for a reasonable fee I'm happy to pay.
Having bought in around 5 tonnes last year, I could happily take delivery of 10 tonnes plus.

All sorted now, and I was please to find the 650 VM has the 750 series engine not the widely advertised 675 on most stores listings.
Oversized timber processing

To be fair the OP isn't in the log business, and it doesn't read that he needs a biomass boiler amount processes day in day out.
I buy in around 10 tonnes or cordwood about now every year. Slowly and safely I cut them into rounds with a 20" bar and then split them on a 7 tonne vertical. All done by hand, but not in a day or two but over say 10 different days depending on weather.
I don't do it because I have to, I do it because I love doing it.
