  1. To be honest, I have not used it as I am looking at buying it and everything works as it should apart from if you are pulling up hill then put brake on it won't hold and the timber will start to move back down hill.

They guy has put new clutch shoes on and I don't know if it is electro hydraulic as I never inspected it.

My thought was to ask on here for some pointers on possible problems.

Thank you for your suggestions and I will get a proper look at it at beginning of the week.

  2. Hi all, I am just setting up for myself after 17years working on country estates doing forestry and maintenance work so I'm clueless to pricing jobs.

I have been asked for a price to cut and prepare timber for extraction by horse and was wondering what sort of rate I should be charging?

Any help or info always greatly received.

    Thanks in advance.

  3. I have searched google and your right Brushcutter it's arrangements with people who have bought there machines. I will mail Jim at Riko tomorrow for more info and prices.

Tomd just let me know when suits you.

Once again thanks for all the input guys.

  4. The figures in brochures is mind boggling.

It is a rev-drive. If on rough ground do the hammers stand up well?

I have been asked to do some heather work but I think the ground will knock hill out the flail mower?? Chain swipe better option for that?

  5. Chris, that is exactly the sort of work I thought I might be able to get into.

I have half a foot in the door with one of the bigger conservation groups to do work on sssi.

As for the ride/scrub clearing would I be better with a mulcher or a flail collector?

  6. Hi guys, new to this forum so bare with me please.

I have 16 years experience working within large country estates and now decided to start working for myself.

I have now purchased an alpine tractor 50hp and was just wondering what if any, work is available for such a machine in the forestry/woodland sector.

Basically I'm wanting to have as many avenues as possible to keep the wheels turning.

Any help/info will be very much appreciated.

I'm located near Edinburgh and willing to work throughout Scotland and North England if that helps.

    Thanks in advance.
