  1. Hi All,

I am looking for a local climber or two to assist me from time to time. Must have all the relevant quals please, insurance & experience etc. Good rates of pay offered. Based in Hitchin, Herts so the work is in this general area.

If you can help please PM me.

    Thanks!

  2. Quick question please,

Do these machines speed up payment on completion, just because the customer can pay,do they?? Whats your experience and what percentage of your customers pay you on completion if you have a mobile payment machine?

    Thanks

  3. Does anyone else have to manage business around the school runs etc like me?

I am trying to establish myself as a new business but am frustrated that I am unable to put in a long day so to speak, how do you deal with it, do you think it makes a business look unprofessional or is it just a fact of life that most customers get???

Also do you in the quoting phase discuss your hours of work with the potential customer?

    Thanks

  4. Thanks

I was/am considering getting a small 6ft one just for saws really and placing this inside my garage which would be the first layer of security. There are plenty of unsavoury characters around my way so every little helps I guess!

  5. One thing that did happen to me a while back which left a bad taste in my mouth was, I saw a homeless girl getting a hard time from some idiots outside a London train station, she was sat begging.

I was inside a mcdonalds having some food before a big night out, I felt sorry for her so before I left I brought a huge bag of burgers etc. When I went outside and tried to give them to her, she told me "no thanks I am not hungry"

    Not Impressed!!!!

  6. Yep i thought 2k was a lot though i have had a couple of similar quotes so guess I should look elsewhere, though that was for a full wrap. Could you give me an idea of what i should be paying then. I would like my company logo which is pretty simple, contact numbers, website details and i reckon thats about it?

    Thanks guys

  7. I posted a wallet I found on the train coming back from London a while back to its owner. It contained a few hundred pounds, a driving license, credit/bank cards and lots of personal info. Sent it via a courier with my contact number and a letter stating the amount I had found in it and asking him to text when he had got it.

The guy left me at least 5 messages of thanks on my answer phone asking me to phone him, i was a little embarrassed to be honest so i never did, just pleased he had got it. However thinking about it he may of been a millionaire who wanted to reward me!!!

    Damn!!

  8. Question, is it worth advertising on your vehicle, how successful have you been?? My thoughts are if I am going to go down this route I want to make it look professional.

I am currently getting quotes for signage on my own Hilux and have looked into vehicle wrapping which looks great to me though, it seems that to wrap a vehicle I should expect to pay around two thousand pounds. If it brings in a decent amount of custom then fair enough, but its still a big out lay for me personally?

    Any advice please??

    Thanks

  9. Hi

Just my thoughts, having lived in OZ for a few years, expense wise you will need to factor in:

A higher cost of living in general compared to the UK

Set up and up front costs, moving expenses for example, for a two bed house if you are moving complete from the UK expect to pay around 8-9kish

Medical insurance per month 200-400 dollars per month depending on numbers and level of cover required (no national health as such)

Pension should you be there for any length of time known as (Superannuation)

Accountancy for tax returns 400-600 dollars per year.

These points are just from my experience I am sure others will feel differently, good luck to you, hope you have a great experience, feel free to PM should you wish.

  10. Thanks all for your input/advise. One last question, size wise what do you think is firstly a workable option (2 man team), secondly forward planning wise a desirable size and is it worth going bigger investment & trailer wise straightaway?

    Thanks
