  1. Looking for a groundsman to join our small, close knit team based in Grimsby.

     

    Chipper, saw and aerial rescue tickets a must. Driving license with less the 6 points is required as duties will include driving the van almost every day.

    Must be hard working with a good work ethic. 

     

    Paid trial period of 2 weeks to see if the fit is right then PAYE employment.

     

    Uniform and PPE provided.

  3. Hello,

     

    I'm a tree surgeon & chainsaw carver based in Grimsby, Lincolnshire.

    I'm after some contact numbers for saw mills, timber merchants, etc for some decent carving wood.

    Nowhere I've contacted so far has any cedar or larch, and the only stuff I can buy in is spruce which isn't the best.

     

    Any info would be greatly received as I'm running out of wood!

  4. hey thanks for the comments guys much appreciated, yes ive tried to carv it a little bit like a koi carp it was a pleasure to carve as im a keen fisherman my self, ive only been chainsaw carving just over a year so I have a lot to learn but I enjoy turning a peace of wood into something other then fire wood, once again thanks a lot for all your replies will be posting more pictures of my carvings over the Christmas period thanks RJ

  5. Hi,

     

    So I've been carving for around 9 months and my usual pieces are mushrooms, kids chairs and owls. I'm getting there with my owls, but I'm still not 100% satisfied.

    Anyway, a friend asked me to make her an owl for her dad as a fathers day gift which got me thinking about my old man. So, after I finished her owl, I carved my dad an axe.
