Hi everyone, I have just moved to Lancashire and am looking for groundsman work in the area. I have been working in the industry for about 3 years and am experienced in all aspects of ground work both in a private and commercial setting, I have experience with stump grinders, brush cutting, hedge cutting, felling and processing. I have also supported a number of climbers in rigging and lowering both difficult and dangerous trees. I am very hard working and love to see a site finished off to the highest standards. I have my cs38/39 but am inexperienced as a climber but would love the opportunity to improve my skills. I also have my cscs and rollo h and s. I have tried my bosses 11mm rope and im not keen. I have really big hands and cant grip it as well as 13mm...I think a bit of experimenting is called for, still getting used to hc after using a prussik since starting climbing

Hi all, would like to pick the brains of you all. I am a relatively new climber and have been climbing on a 12.5mm new england rope, the honeybros red, white and blue type (sorry cant remember the exact type) it has served me well to start with but has a very tough form which isnt brill with knots and has a tendency to coil. What is the general opinion on the best ropes? So many out there and they all claim to be the best in the business!?? Any advice and opinions would be really appreciated :-) cheers

Its a tough 1, i never intentionaly drop a tree if i know a nest is in it but u cant be held as deliberatly harming a bird if u have no idea its there surely! Will have to check the legislation but im not dragging my ass through every leylandi to check!

I need a bit of advice. How does the law stand on dropping a tree and then discovering a pigeon nest with chicks? Obviously it isnt practical to climb and check every evergreen hedge, cedar and hawthorn we fell but dont want to end up on the wrong end of a hefty fine!

Hmmm i think i will have to try 8 & 10 mm and see which works for me, thanks for the advice
