    Countryside Conservation (For beginners)

    1 day a week for 9 weeks

    CAPEL MANOR COLLEGE, BULLSMOOR LANE, ENFIELD

    This course provides an introduction into basic habitat conservation skills, particularly focussing on woodland habitat and grassland habitat. It can act as an entry into a career in countryside conservation.

     

    Understanding the ecology and habitats of Essex and South Hertfordshire (For beginners)

    1 day a week for 9 weeks

    This course provides an introduction into basic ecological concepts and the features of several key habitats, within the Essex and South Hertfordshire area. It can act as an entry into a career in countryside conservation.

     

    Level 2 Diploma in Forestry and Arboriculture

    CAPEL MANOR COLLEGE, HORSENDEN FARM, UXBRIDGE

    Learn a trade where you can earn up to £30,000 a year, working outdoors…This one year course is designed for those looking to become employed within the arboriculture industry or seeking work in estates management. Ground work, chainsaw use (on and off ground), tree climbing and aerial rescue are covered. The course also involves a period of work experience. All you need is a good general education and a keen interest in the subject. This course is FREE for 16–18 year olds.

     

    Level 2 Diploma in Outdoor Adventure

    CAPEL MANOR COLLEGE, BULLSMOOR LANE, ENFIELD

    This one year course is designed for 16–18 year olds looking to seek employment within the outdoor adventure industry. Adventure recreation is one of the fastest growing sectors of employment with more and more people wanting to experience adventurous activities for personal, social and group development. The course is taught both in the classroom and through practical sessions. Students may progress to a Level 3 Diploma, Subsidiary Diploma, Extended Diploma in Countryside Management or Outdoor Adventure. This course is FREE for 16–18 year olds.

    APPRENTICESHIPS IN TREES & TIMBER (ARBORICULTURE) – Intermediate and Advanced Levels

    CAPEL MANOR COLLEGE CRYSTAL PALACE PARK, HORSENDEN FARM, ENFIELD

     

    Apprenticeships are a different way of obtaining nationally recognised vocational qualifications, open to anyone 16 and above who does not have a degree and is employed within the industry. Earning as they learn, apprentices attend college on a block release basis to learn the practical and theoretical skills required to work in their industry. You must be educated to GCSE standard and employed within the arboriculture industry, working a minimum of 30 hours per week under a contract of employment. We work closely with employers and can use these links to assist our students to find employment in order to take advantage of the programme.
