  2. At the moment, whatever I can but mostly grass cutting hedges and small tree work

And yes, I have there is a farm just down the road from me he don't want know one apart from family working with him i have tried 5-6 people local that I got out of the yellow pages/online no one seems interested just feel like pulling my hair out sometimes

  3. Yes thats I wanted to do, but apart from stihlben last year for 2 weeks all ways in Buckinghamshire no one is interested local was even offering to work for free still no luck

Personally if I was in David's position I would be looking at doing at least a couple of years with another tree firm get tickets, Driving licence etc... Save a little each month and buy some basic tools then start working weekends and summer evenings on your own jobs until you have a small client base before taking the step and go it alone.

    Just my opinion...

  4. i have already said, I'm starting off small and I'm not planning on starting work till after march, but you're just being a c*ck thinking your better than everyone else and I have a mate with a tipper who is willing to help out on a Monday, Friday and Saturday and I didn't just copy and paste at all and for the Second time the website is there to see if there's any interest I already do garden work and little tree work so have that full back on

  5. I know what you're saying, but I'm giving this 150% and I am going to start off with the small stuff and I know none of this is going to happen over night and I'm not selling in taking on work I can't do if the work is more than I can handle I will pass it on to other local businesses and maybe there do the same for me on smaller jobs they don't want to get into because it's not worth while for them. And for the website, it's just to see if I get any interest have to start somewhere and I'm still am willing to work with someone, but no one has been interested I have even offered to work for free!!!

Enthusiasm can sometimes get in the way of the goal, and cloud your judgement. Ignore the advice which tells you "You've got what it takes, you have loads of enthusiasm. That'll get you through!" Rubbish. Only route to success is sheer hard graft and knowing very clearly what you're trying to achieve.

Check your website - most of your services are words lifted from your competition. Please think about this as a customer rather than an enthusiastic beginner.

Why do you have a website when you can't yet deliver what you're offering? Slow down a bit. Stop and think carefully. Be more accepting of your current limitations.

Eggs is right here. I would GET MORE EXPERIENCE IN THE TRADE FIRST before going it alone.

You need to master your craft. Don't run before you can walk.

I've been in forestry and woodcraft since 1991 and am still bumping along with old gear and rusty trucks; but I'm truly happy doing it.

  6. Thanks Steve, that's sort of input I am looking for

I suggest starting with a very simple website layout... as you are beginning it may be best to have a single homepage and a link to a contact page for email & phone.

Drop the testimonial page as you don't have any.

The photos look awful. Remember the saying *photos say a thousand words*

If you use crap photos (especially when starting out) people will think that is what you are offering; a crap service!... a crap job!

Best not to sell anything before you can actually deliver the goods.

    Hope this helps,

    cheers, steve

  7. I will make it work and for no driving license test is rebooked for March

And for the tickets spoke to the job center they may be able to help and also I know someone off here who I have worked with and he's been in business for a very long time and has no tickets to his name

It's got to be said. David, give up! Your in a dream world. You've no tickets, no driving license, and from what you have posted not a pot to piss in. Go and get a Job!!

I'm sorry to sound harsh fella, but I can see this venture of yours ending in tears.
