The old Bedford tum/tul would go anywhere I used to drive them when I first joined the army. They was replaced with MAN trucks. But I'd have a Bedford off road any day of the week.
Did they not swap over to the DAF 45 4x4?

If Scotland vote out and then join the EU they would have use the euro too. Plus a hard border to keep the pesky immigrants out of England. I don't think they would find it that easy.
You never know, if we manage to stay in the single European market we will prob all be ok. We will prob all be ok anyway because I'm hoping those in charge won't be so stupid to steer our economy into the rocks.
What about Northern Ireland border ?
Interesting times ahead there that's for sure!
Euro would not phase me as I travel for work so frequently. !

We (in England, Wales & the N of Ireland) should have had the vote last time!
United Kingdom is a group of countries not one... so by that logic the rest of the EU should have had the vote on U.K. Leaving EU!

If Krankie gets her way for another Scottish independence referendum, will you vote stay in UK or leave?
Genuine question to all resident Scots really to gauge what the general Scottish mood is from normal people rather than from media or politicians.

I'd vote to leave UK again.

I'm a bit further north and the feeling here is somewhat different ! I feel both Brexit and Trump highlight how racist and selfish people actually are. We invented the jumbo jet to make the world a smaller place yet we are now building walls.
The EU has done fantastic things for the UK and brought much needed cash into many deprived areas where U.K. Industry no longer exists. Brexit was sold as a lie and will not improve quality of life for the vast amount of people in the U.K. Those who stand to profit are the elites!
Whilst the EU has brought in constraints I believe the benefits to being part of that union outweigh those of just being in the United Kingdom.
I have always considered myself to be Scottish and European and do hope we get the opportunity to remain in the EU with our without Westminster.
I'll get my coat now!

An 025 that belongs in a skip!
Sucking in air as fuel pipes perished, clutch cover bearing shattered and muffler that disintegrated!

I put a 1/8" drill through my left pinky and out the other side. Now we have petrol and battery powered tools you can mutilate yourself in totally new locations well away from electrical sockets. More people are injured with hammers than chainsaws is a statistic I once read and I have a black and blue thumb to testify to that but I would think you stand more chance of healing from a bruise than growing a limb back. My little Chinese top handle was bought to do a job and will get used again some time and it's not £500 sat doing nothing it was less than £100, just the cost of a good night out for some or a cheap night out for others.
seconded on the cheap chinese top handle. if the original poster is after a saw as a beginner then the <£100 top handle is way to go.

i have 2
2500 - 10"bar 25cc top handle
5200 - 20" bar 52cc
top handle is used regularly and i like it for size and weight.
5200 is common as muck and parts available on ebay.
few issues with pull cord springs, tuning needles move with vibration but cheap to fix with parts from ebay.
Cut loads of wood with them and paid for over and over.
I did think about replacing with a stihl but it keeps going.

i have been using the Holtham chains that are cheap as chips on my MS181 and sharpen twice and throw away.
4 x (Four) HOLTHAM Chainsaw Saw Chain 3/8 LP .050 50 DL | eBay
I did think about better chains or different chisel type but the saw is not powerful enough in my opinion.
cheers
Mike

Hi Guys,
Have anyone used the chains from mister solutions?

Similar to above.
Used regularly and still going strong.

Why 25:1 in old saws ? If it said 25:1 when they made it it was because the oil was of a lesser quality back then but now it would benefit from 50:1 mix just like your newer saws . Why punish it coz its old ! ?
Oldest saw is the 009 and it has original piston and rings.... used every year since 1983. Book says 25:1 and its going good.
Aint broke so dont fix it. Still burning same volume of fuel per cycle.
tuning also comes into play, if you run lean richen it up at carb and vice versa.
Each to their own. Works for us.

I'm sure he means for use as a chipper saw- to sever unions and the like. It's ideal for that, especially at the price and residual value. Nice and light too, for as Horatio will tell you, they need to conserve all the energy they can for the mad dash to the chipper and back!
Plus being in that role it's the most likely to be nicked.
I'm with Eagle- I love mine for the profit it makes.
Id say all saws are cheaply built now, the ms181 next to the 30 year old 009....cant see it lasting that long. Everything is plastic now and only difference I can see between "homeowner" and "pro" is engine size. But just my opinion.

Stihl "shots" 100ml are a no brainer for me.
Old saws I stick to 25:1 = 2 shots in 5l fuel
New saws 50:1 = 1 shot in 5l of fuel
Simples.
Cost a bit more but failsafe for mixing.

Hi guys, just bought a ms181 with 14" bar, are there any issues I should watch for on this type of saw ?
Only put around a gallon through it so far and seems to be doing ok for a non pro saw. Lack of "pro" grunt due to engine size but not bad for ground work / limbing.
Certainly better than Chinese saw and Stihl 009 non AV! I was using previously.!
