have you tried honey brothers? they have shipped a saw to me in ireland in the past, but may of changed policy since, failing that a day out at the irish forestry show in may in loais, i would imagine there should be good prices on machinary.
what date is that on? mite go to it. i need the saw next week lol
-
There a way round your problem but it might not be cheaper just an idea I use it from time to time but that if I'm shipping from US (hope no jobsworths reading this lol)
what is this whisper it so no one hears

She won't be seen with her dad in public these days, too embarrassing apparently......
And I know what she'd do with the cash.... It wouldn't include 'anything she'd been told to do'
:laugh1:

See if you can cut a deal on the saw and other items you may need - chains, oil, PPE etc - sometimes manufacturers have a strict price control policy with their dealers but that doesn't stop you getting a deal on free items.
Have heard of a colleague who couldnt get a blower from a Stihl agent - must be worried about someone getting caught in the crosswind and having a bad hair day....you can't be too careful:001_rolleyes:
Some of these controls, especially on spares is just pure agent protection - OK if your local agent is 100% fab but not so good if he is a male hen:blushing:
i asked him how much the saw was he told me then said i could take the £8 of it i think i seen his eyes water when he said that so dont think theres goen to be any free stuff lol
-
This is odd, prior to doing my 30/31 they offered to post the saw to my training centre where I would be able to collect it for the beginning of my course. I ended up visiting family in Forest hill where I'm from so collected it in person. Though all I had to do was sign a piece of paper........
Perhaps it's the cost of shipping across the water?
id be paying for the shiping.

Fair enough.
I originally thought the problem was the posting to NI, not the posting of the saw. Wondered if it was like our highlands & islands restrictions on anywhere north of Perth.
ya i know what you mean i get that alot . its just the fact its a saw this time
-
I think it depends on many things. I do believe though that proof of nptc certs for the relevant units can still get you a saw from some places.
It's quite clearly shown on the site that they don't mail order.
Their prices are keen but you should be able to persuade a local dealer to get close. Have you had a haggle yet?
Don't tell Justin but I bought a little Stihl a couple of weeks ago from a local dealer for less than Jones' were advertising it
says they post to returning customers. the dealer wont budge on his price greedy fecker
-
Yeah, but you keep money in the local economy and you build a relationship with the local dealer who will be able to work on your saw there and then, rather than have to post it back and wait for its return. You pay for the local service and availability. Not to say you don't get good service from Jones, all I've heard about them has been good.
the money is better of in my wallet i think
-
imo i cant see why not everyone shops in one form or a other online these days to big company to little arb guys like my self i know its a safety thing stopping someone with no experience picking up a saw like a 440 and waving it about like a mad man
i agree with you i asked if i give them a copy of papers would that work but sadly no
-
my local dealer is £100 more than fr jones
-
as above they wont post a saw to me here in northern ireland where else mite do it that have good saw prices ?
-
