  1. Hey guys, I have used a 3 : 1 pulling system before, but today I was playing around with a 5 : 1 system, and wondering if I have done it correctly? I know everything is too close together, my setup was tight. In the field all the hardware would be more spaced out. Please see attached picture. Thanks so much in advance for your help
  2. Oh my brother is a sailor. Man, hopefully he can come and just redo it I think that would be easier.. hit it a lot of the hammer and still its not going in. thanks for the help
  3. Hello, My brother splices for a living. He is rarely in town and when he is, its for a short time. Anyways, I got him to splice an eye into my climbing rope, but it was very stubborn and we didn't have time to finish it. The core is left exposed. How can I fix this? I have tried jamming the core into the sheath with a screwdriver, but made little progress and really don't see where its going to go in the center of the eye. thanks alot
  4. Ok thanks guys will look into some kind of cambium saving device. good tips
  5. Hey guys, want to help set up a kids swingset. any reccomendations on the best anchor would be appreciated. obviously could just throw the rope around the tree, double or with a running bowline at one end, but was wondering if there is something better that will reduce friction on the tree. suppose could set up a cambium saver as well. goal is durability. thank you
  6. thanks everyone. took it to the shop today and he said nothing wrong he could see. said that i might have installed it with the chainbrake on. i dont think so. no problems today about 2 hours of bucking. thank you this site is really excellent
  7. thanks alot everyone. i meant an anchor between 2 or more points. i feel better on those.
  8. personal tie in point sorry for not being clear
  9. Hey guys, I dont know whats going on with my chainsaw. Ive been cutting small trees and brush and the chain keeps falling off. I have it a little tighter than normal to try to combat it, but still happens. I put a new chain on it today (but accidently cut against a brick for a few seconds). It is falling off the tip and around the wheel part that makes it turn. its a ms290 stihl, only 7 months old. could it be the dull chain? any advice would be appreciated. thank you very much
  10. Hey guys I have been sometimes using the friction saver with micro pulley and my rope over another main branch / trunk to create 2 anchor points. it makes me feel alot better with 2 anchor points. what are some other options i can use? like friction saver, etc... ? can i use webbing? thanks alot
