The X-torq has a compression release on the top of the cylinder.

Before I had mine ported, I would run a 20 or a 24" bar on mine. I even ran a 28" on occassions. I would have no trouble running a 28" full comp now.

I have read good reviews of the 6100 and the 620. I have no personal experience with either, but I believe I would get the 6100 of those 2 based on the opinions I have seen expressed by those who have used both.

A 60cc saw that seems to be popular on several forums I read is the Dolmar/Makita 6100. It seems to be a strong performer with an easy start feature. I believe one of the members/sponsors sells this model.

Glad you like the new saw. They get a lot of good reviews on another site I am on. About the only complaint I have read about them was their bulky feeling size, but the length of run time, power, and filtration seem to make their owners happy with the saw. I hope you will provide updates as you get the chance.

A forum member of another forum I am on has several you tube videos of the 620 running a 27" bar. You could watch them to see what a 620 does with a longer bar. I have run a 590 with a 24" bar and it did fine but the saw had some port work done on it.

I have had the Jonsered version of this saw for about 8 years. It has been a very dependable saw. I have run up to a 28" bar on it and cut some 30-36" diameter oak with it. I use it usually after the wood gets >20" in diameter.

I am only a part time user, but I have enjoyed my AT saws. I bought the 2252 new, the 562 never fueled pho from a forum member on another forum, and a used ported 550 from another forum member. I have had no starting problems or running problems.

The new Echo 50 cc saws are nice and light. I have seen several ported on other forums that run quite well. They would also be about 3 lbs lighter than your 620.

I use an 18" bar on my 2252. I recently ran a 20" bar for a white oak I cut for firewood, and the saw did fine in the 18"diameter rounds.

There are some youtube videos of a 6100 and a 562 in the same wood and they have similar power.
-
I have the Jonsered version that compares to the 545, and it does well in 14-18" diameter wood.

I have a 365xt and a 2165 which is the Jonsered version of the 65cc model. The xt is stronger stock than the 65cc model and does fine with a 24" bar. After having the restrictions removed on the xt and some port work done to it, it will handle a 28" bar just fine.
-
There are threads on some other forums that show the restrictors on the transfer covers of the 365xt. Once these are ground off, the saw is basically a 372xt since the p/c is the same in both saws. I have a 365xt that has had the the restrictors ground off, the muffler modified, and some port work done to it, and it is a very strong runner.

You might look at the Husky 545. It should be somewhat cheaper than the 550. I have the Jonsered version and it seems to have similar power to my 346.

The makita and the dolmar version are basically the same saw with different colored plastic. If you notice Makita models will have dcs before the model # which stands for dolmar chainsaw. The 401 makes a nice little saw ported also.

I believe it is a poulan saw. It probably had a craftsman label on it at one time.
