  1. Thank you Alec! That is probably the best thing I can do, thanks. You've summarised exactly how I feel, I don't want to upset anyone, get anyone in trouble, and equally I don't want it on my head if he hasn't done something he should have.
  2. Ok thanks, I'll take the number with me on Monday and do it myself.
  3. It's changed because I bit my tongue, because I thought you were originally probing to get him in trouble. He cut down a tree a while back at a different site, before I had qualified, I asked him if he checked for a TPO, he said "No, I probably should have"...If he doesn't check when he's doing the felling, I find it unlikely he'll check for me, but you're right, I am assuming, the whole estate could be clear. But that was the purpose of this post, he hasn't outright told me whether in this particular incidence he's checked or not and I wanted to gauge how people would handle it as to alleviate any possible trouble for myself.
  4. Well I know that he's never phoned the local council to check for TPO, he's admitted this. You may well be right, but If you knew that information wouldn't you put me at ease by telling me this, or showing me the documents? I can live with not working for you mate, I know I'm checking for the right reasons.
  5. Who knows, previously he was doing the felling, so I don't know if he checked, probably not. But recently I did my CS30 and 31, so he's getting me doing it, and I want to know if it's all legit, I don't want to get into trouble for something being pretty much forced upon me.
  6. It's Stratford upon Avon, but I couldn't seem to find one
  7. Hello, I'm new to this forum but really need some advice from Arborists and people with life experience. I'm a gardener and have been told to cut down a pair of yews at a private estate we look after on Monday, by our companies head gardener. The problem is I know he won't have checked for tree preservation orders, never has, too lazy. To be quite honest, I don't want to do it; for the reason of the possible TPOs and because the trees are in good health, nothing wrong with them imo. But, unfortunately he's my boss, and I just wanted to know, if I went through with it, who would be liable, him or me? and the best way to handle it?
