  1. Hi I'm in west yorkshire. yes the cost of felling I'm sure outweighs the value of the timber I guess I'm just trying to mitigate the cost of the felling by selling on after its done. I've got a quote of £1500 to fell it from a company I've used before. I'll take some pictures tommorrow and post up.
  2. Hi We've got an Oak tree in our garden that has been pushing against a 5 ft boundary reataining wall leading onto a public highway. The other day the tree got the better of the wall and a 10 metre stretch collapsed. The council have agreed that there is an on going public safety risk from the wall the collapsing again in the future from tree pressure so they have agreed that I can fell the tree. It is about 3 metres in circumference at the base and about 15 metres high with huge limbs all over the place. anyhow, is there any market anywhere for felled wood like this? would there be a preference for the size and shape of felled pieces. I can't imagine that it can be felled as a single trunk because of surrounding space so does this make it less sellable? who might i contact to test interest? any thoughts appreciated. thanks
