  1. So would I Freelander ok to drive. Disco 3 and 4 very nice. Range Rover dreadful a right fat old ox that wanders all over the road and still has no boot space.

    I would struggle to pick between a disco 4 and amazon if was not for the reliability problems. Range Rover = cigar smoking old farts car. :biggrin:

    And Amazon = Camel Jockey with AK47 on the passenger seat! :BoomSmilie_anim:

  2. You need to get out of that cloud of B*llsh*t that your head is stuck in, I love Land Rovers but Toyota's are more reliable in the real world!

    Each to their own - We have 2 - mine 102k problems so far new clutch slave cylinder. TOH's 70k problems so far - none! I'd call that reliable! Took head out of bullshit cloud and still say if its not a Land Rover it's not a real 4x4. Even Toyota know that! After all the Land Cruiser is the result of jap 'reverse engineering' on what? and so called to sound like what? You guessed it Land Rover!

  3. If you want it mounted on a road tailer Wallenstein comes ready to go (lights, the whole ish!) and most work either vertical (handy with those big rings) and horizontal. Probably the only thing they have over the Riko. Both V good and in your price range!

    Cheers Commando - The only Wallenstein I can see that works on vertical is £2800, unfortunately bit out of my range :dontknow:

  4. Right the man asked for a splitter;

    Riko (balfor) a11 - what power source? Petrol, pto, elec???

    Got the a11 with 9hp robin engine - tons of threads about this machine on here. Mine has been perfect since new 4 years ago. :thumbup:

    Petrol please TCD - and mounted on trailer for easy handling. :thumbup:

  5. Lawn flite are ok aimed more at the home owner market more. Look at the working position on it, you would spend most of the time bent over or crouched. All the machines in the pro or semi pro range are designed so the operator does not have to bend down.

    To the op Riko do some good machines and there in your price range jim off here is a sales man for then so you may even get an arbtalk disscount.

    Cheers guys, Riko one's look interesting, problem is their website is horribly laid out and hard to decipher. Can't work out what I would be getting or at what cost. If Riko salesman you mentioned sees this, please drop me a pm with price for a petrol driven splitter.

  6. So my mate has bought a farm with 40 acres of woodland, mostly ash! He has told me I never need to by firewood again and felled 2 very large ash that where in the way of planned access. I have one ringed at 15 inches and need some advice on what splitter to buy, budget is £1k -£2k. Any suggestions? Thanks
