  1. cheers for the replies. TreeDoctor I do also have a mate who has offerd me a room in Birmingham but thats even further away . lyons ill give him a try
  2. I forgot to add I also have experience in driving 1.5 ton diggers
  3. Hi all im new here I would like to get started in tree surgery. I have been thinking about it for a good few years now and i think its something that would suit me perfectly. I have been working in the building trade for the last 10 years doing mostly upvc windows, fascias and guttering but have also done a bit of roofing. I have been self employed for the last 3 years but i think its time for a change. I would like to get a job with a tree surgeon so i can get some experience and learn about all the aspects of the job. I have a little bit of experience with using chain saws mostly with removing small trees/hedges for constructing fences and cutting fire wood. I dont have any tickets for using chain saws and the like but would be more than happy to fund the courses if there was the prospect of some work. Any sugestions of what tickets are best to do first and what collages are good in the south are welcome. I am 27, have a transit 350 mwb hi top and have a couple of small chainsaws I would be happy to use. I also have my trailer licence so towing any chippers or trailers would not be a problem if required. I currently live on the isle of wight but im hoping to move to the mainland soon probably around portsmouth but im happy to commute sensible distances if the work is there. Im not looking for loads of money but obviously need to be able to surport myself and if i could afford to ride mx every other week I would be happy as Larry. Any feedback suggestions welcome. cheers Russell
