  1. Thanks for the reply. We're in Llandovery, Carmarthenshire. It's processed firewood I was looking at selling. Hard or soft (60 or 50 a cube).

If someone else handles delivery I don't mind where it go but I think it's 2+ hours to Oswestry.

I'm after firewood,I'm in Machynlleth,do you know anyone that would deliver?

  2. I think you would be better getting new for the price difference. How old is it? No warranty. How far are you going to travel? You will need a van and two man lift. About 100kg. If you lay it down make sure the oil tank cap is on tight or you will loose all the oil.

    It's 10yrs old,and I'm just over an hour away!

    I have a trailer (8x4)

  3. Evening all,

Browsing the inter web and come across this,I've been looking for a couple of weeks now,I would like to know your opinions on this,it's 10yrs old,but couldn't find any information on the Web about it!

Anybody heard,or know of the brand?

    Is it any good?

    It's for Home use only!

    What's it worth?

    eBay 301909846687

    Thamks

  4. Maybe not today anyway, perhaps if you reviewed what diameter you cut & how often you intend to use your saw & for how long, then that may help you make the right decision.

Larger wood may make the 365 a better choice as you have more power

Frequent use may make the 60cc Makita a better choice unless weight isnt a problem

When you say larger wood, how large do you mean?

  5. Good point!

I still haven't had a reply from HuskyDusky as to who was selling the 365 for £450 and whether that included VAT, so I've no idea what he's using it for either.

If it's just firewood he can have my low hours DCS4301 for less than either if he's within 50 miles of me, and delivered free too!

Maybe he'll be back soon to shed more light on the situation... :001_smile:

Right,as I understand it the husky was originally for a customer who put a deposit on it then didn't return, this was a few months ago at least and the customer has made no contact,so this is the price I was offered it at.

  6. Get the 6100.

I've had no problems ever with Makita / Dolmar.

Husqvarna have their own issues, although I don't dislike them, I have my own reasons for not having bought one yet, which are too weird for this forum.

The £140 will buy you a lot of fuel, chains, oil and beer.

Where is the 365 selling for £450?

    Local dealer near me.

  7. Right,I have a bit of a dilemma at the moment on which saw to purchase ,the 365 I've been offered will cost me £450 brand new(20inch bar),and the 6100 for £310 (also 20inch bar)which is second hand, albeit in very good condition from shavey (Andrew) off here.

My intention is that which ever one I choose will be my only saw and will be used mainly for home logging.

    Opinions please!

    Thanks

  8. Just bought a Brand New Efco DS4300tl brushcutter, now do I run it on Aspen or the usual Stihl hp 2 stroke?

The guy in the shop who tested it to show all was good put a little fuel in it with 2 stroke oil,now that has been emptied was wondering what you guys think?

    Thanks

  9. A quick bit of googling, £770 from f r Jones for PHO.

So you have a choice, £600 for a 6 year old, low hours saw, or £170 buys a brand new one with 2 years warranty.

He is open to offers though?

    £500 maybe?

  10. Just from specs, not a lot. But spec alone can be misleading.

The Tanaka is a lot more dosh (my price £565 for the 4200DLV with the upgrade 6" UltraA6 2 line head) but it is genuine Japanese throughout. Also 5yr warranty for domestic and 2yr for Pro use.

I just like Tanaka, have been selling it since 1990 and had very few issues. But, granted, not everyone wants to spend that much.

Looking to spend no more than £400 to be honest choice upto now is

Lawnflite (can't remember the model number?) (£400)

    Efco 4300tl (£399.99)

    Stiga 645 (£330 Delivered)

    Thanks

  11. I have not had a carb off one myself, but looking at the parts list it does look like a Walbro rotary valve carb with twin inlet strato charging.

I had a chat with the rep following the reading of this thread last week. He knows I only like to sell very high quality kit, and would not encourage me to take something if he was not happy with it. But he is 100% behind these Kawasaki powered machines. They apparently have a fair few in local authority work and they are performing extremely well.

For now I am sticking with Tanaka in my showroom, but if I have need of a slightly cheaper machine for someone who wont stretch to Tanaka then I will happily get them a Stiga now that I know a bit more about them.

What's the the difference then between the Tanaka equivalent and the the Stiga besides the price?

As i live in a very rural area choice is somewhat limited!

    Thanks
