  1. Agree. You'll be lucky to get that amount in a week with trees!

Agree aswell or move to Norwich, they got a helipad there to fly you out, work between there and holland, etc, if you don't fancy going away for 2 weeks at a time, would advise getting onto rail, £130-150 a day more for nights, am on rail myself ATM I also hear there is a lot of rope acess work in Kent ATM, do you have any chainsaw tickets?

  2. With regards to PTS card, yes you need a sponsor but there are a few training centres that will be your sponsor, you just need to get a drugs & alcohol test and a medical prior to the course, I am on the railways and I love it, if your not shy about working away, mon -fri etc then contact QTS, there head office is in drumclog, lanarkshire, ML10 6QJ, 01357 440222 or even better check there site out, QTS Group

  3. Before you are allowed to even book your PTS course, you have to take a drugs & alcohol test (D&A) I paid £105 with a company called health care connections in Manchester city centre, then my medical was £80 with health care again and I did that in Birmingham next to the mailbox, some company's required a sponsor before you do these test but I rang round a few company's and found health care did not require a sponsor.

My PTS course was £234.00 for the 3day course, I did my course with renown near stone, staffordshire who also sponsored me, all they ask for them sponsoring you, is that you sign up with them for work on zero hour contract and if you are available at the time they offer you the work for, that you go and work for them but if your working on the date they offer, then you just say no, how ever it's another opportunity of employment, so I was more than willing sign up.

Hope this answers a few questions for PPL.

  4. Well i am sorry that ive up set some of you lads by just replying and not calling him like he asked, but as im in work at the moment and using the phone is near impossible, i thought a quick 2 minute post back is better than nothing at all, with a follow up call to him tomorrow,

I am with you Carl, something is better than nothing, I think some PPL on hear have nothing better to do, to complain about your post is pretty sad, you showed some interest good on on you!

  5. Hi matt not been having much luck trying to find a pts course. Google just seems to throw up loads of stuff down south ect so any info from yourself would be much appreciated to help me find a course and costs ect.

Average price for a 2 day pts course is about £235 including vat. Wide range of companys out there but I am not sure who does them in your area, how ever before that you need a drugs & alcohol certificate £100 and a medical certificate £80 with a company called "health care connections" and you don't need a sponsor either. Also a lot of company's do offer all 3 services with just one payment as well. I am on a waiting list do to my pts course. I bloke did message me from a company called "course plus" the other day & stated a new policy has come in that the 2 day pts course has now changed to a 3 day pts course, which he quoted me £324, don't know how true it is but just be prepared if you may get told this, hope you have some more answers now.
