  1. Who are the usual suspects?! Cheers!
  2. Wow, thanks for the replies! Wanted to give you all an update. I got offered a role through an agency, not quite tree orientated but permanent work over Christmas / New Year. Decided to go for that and get a bit more money together and get ready to throw myself into self employment come February time. THEN heard from someone on here with potential permanent work, pending a trial day hopefully later this week, so we'll see. Fingers crossed!
  3. Hi all, Have used the search function, but just wondered if any people in the Essex area can recommend somewhere I can go for type A trousers? Looking online and struggling to find decent lengths, I'm a 34 / 34 in jeans and the only 34" length I'm seeing are for bigger waists. Need these ASAP.. Thanks, Robbo
  4. Romford / Rush Green area, Essex. But willing to travel further into Essex or Kent / Surrey - within reason.

  7. Adam, cheers for the post. Have reached out to a few firms, still have a few on my list to contact too. Matty, I wish! It's a contract job, so no pension or training, have had to pay for that myself. Got let go last November, and taken back in May so not really holding out for surviving again when winter season kicks in. Took my CS30, 31 & 38 in the months I was out of work.

  9. Fellas (and ladies), Wanted to ask for advice from some of you. Currently work with my local council which ties me up Monday to Fridays, but I'm seriously thinking about calling that quits. Obviously given the current climate out there, that's not a decision I can take lightly. Now it's not what I want to do as it's not tree orientated, but it is regular income. I'm finding myself in catch 22 now with a couple of people offering occassional tree work, and I'm not currently able to accept it if it's during the week - which isn't helping me in terms of gaining the experience I know I need before the likelihood of anyone taking me on full time. I need to have a serious think over the next couple of days about what I'm going to do. I'm trying to weigh up if I should leave where I currently am (which is only guarenteed until October and is shite pay) and take my chances with occassional work and set myself up doing gardening inbetween (before the winter sets in). I'm 30 now and the sooner I get into Arboriculture, the better. There's never going to be a good time I guess, and especially now as winter sets in... but.. Advice? Cheers, Robbo

  11. Mark, thanks for your message. I should have put that my current work ties me up Monday to Fridays, but I'm seriously thinking about calling that quits. It's not what I want to do as it's not tree orientated (but is regular income) and I'm finding myself in catch 22 now, with people such as yourself offering occassional work, and me not being able to accept it if it's during the week - which isn't going to help me gain the experience I need to take on anything full time. Rock and hard place! I need to have a serious think over the next couple of days about my options but I'll definately be in touch, thanks.

  13. I'm at work on Thursday / Friday mate, but bear me in mind for future / weekend work (?) as I'm not too far from you (Romford way). Am a pretty confident climber, just need to gain some more experience.
  14. Hi all, I'm Chris, 30 based in Essex. Trying to get into the tree world!
  15. Hi there, Been recommended to the forum by my instructor, and it looks like a pretty impressive forum! Currently working as an Assistant Gardener / Ground Maintenance for my local council, but want to get started in the arboriculture world. Subject to getting my own stuff, willing to do any private work or help anyone needing a second pair of hands. Need to gain experience now I have the tickets (all obtained this year, the most recent one in May). If there's a company out there that is willing to take on a newby, then that would be even better, but I'll take whatever I can get for the moment. Keen to get started.. Thanks all, Chris
