We are based in ashby de la zouch but work pretty much countrywide.

I need a reliable subbie climber and groundie anyone point me in the right direction or recommend?
-
I will be looking to employ a full time crew in the not too distant future. Ideally an experienced climber that is proud of their work and the company they work for. A rescue climbing groundsman (as above re pride) and a groundsman (grafter and proud). No room for work shy blokes or passengers i'm afraid, I need grafters.
Good rates of pay that reflect quals and work rate.
If you have PTS, UA, CSCS and any other extra lettered tickets you would stand out.
We are based in the midlands, give me a call if you are interested.

Where are you based and how far would you travel?
-
An extra pair of hands on the ground needed for monday and tuesday next week (6th + 7th Aug). Based in the midlands.
Grounding for a MEWP man, stack and windrow. Overnight stop possibly.
Call me if interested and for more details , thank you.

The wall you see in the background is the boundary to the road, the clutter you see is the complete disregard and lack of respect for a specimen of this age. The current owners of this property have turned it into a hotel (building not the tree) and will not pay or listen to any proffesionals regarding the health and care of their trees.

Use LEADCANS for your pre start checks.
L- Legal Checks. (work around the saw)
Rear hand guard, Trigger lock inter face (dead man's handle), Positively marked off switch, Warning stickers, Chain break, Chain catcher,
E - Exhaust, faces away from the operator.
A - Anti - vibration mounts
D - Damage
C - Chain cover
A - Airways (engine cooling fins are clear)
N - Nuts and bolts
S - Starter Chord T, L, C. Tension, Length, Condition (top and bottom where it wears).
If you take your hand off the trigger or move your feet for whatever reason put your chain brake on.
Don't forget to have your visor and ear muffs down.
Take your time and don't panic.
Don't be afraid to ask the assessor for help if (god forbid) you get your saw stuck, they are there to help as well as assess.
The rest is revision from the assessment schedule.
This may be a bit late but hope it helps.

In this increasingly risk hierarchical led world I am proud to offer to all and sundry a 'Man and a MEWP' for hire (cherry picker if you prefer), both tracked and vehicle mounted. Operatives are fully ticketed for use, arb ops and can also administer traffic control and signage within Chapter 8 regulations.
Alongside this service I also offer, to those of wont, a 10 inch tracked chipper.
Please feel free to enquire further as rates can be negotiated depending upon distance and work entailed.
I thank you.

i have acquired a carving bar and chain. I fancy a crack at this carving lark. anyone got any pointers or advice for a pure green carver?

I have just bought some 8mm Beal Regate and been playing around with the XTC fire. This is the best friction hitch I tied for this combo. It was the only one that held with brand new 8mm. As the rope supples I shall no doubt experiment some more.

Whilst trawling through e bay I came across this little lot. They are not the right ones for my saws, but I'm sure someone out there can use them. I hope this helps one of you. Copy and paste this link:

I have yet to find a fully satisfactory make/brand of gloves for climbing in. they are either over priced or do not last long. Does anyone have their suggestions/recommendations? Which do you use, how much and how long do they last?
