Hi Martin is it ? you need to make sure that the two surfaces are clean on the taper lock outer surface and the inner surface on the pulley . but it sounds like the grub screws have not been tightened enough. Has the taper lock split ? If you need any more help I have qualified Timberwolf technicians you can talk to. Gareth of Green Plant 01483 235111

yes taper lock split thanks for the number iv got one from spectram but ill save the number for next time something happens

  2. It is the same as the one I used to hire although the one the hire shop had bits of exhaust pipe missing, along with other bits and was never sharp. It had been hammered and I begrudged handing him £90 quid a pop to hire it out. Thought it will soon pay for its self and I will only be using it for smallish stumps. I just want to make it the most efficient it can be. Will try giving it a good sharpen myself and see how it does

    Thanks for the reply

  3. I've been looking at putting finger teeth on it as a relatively cheap upgrade to the ones that are on but I've just had a look at the multi tip cutter wheel, it looks pretty good! Would you say there is a huge difference in performance between the multi tip and putting fingers on?

    cheers for the reply

  4. Hi everyone!

Just bought my first stump grinder, its got to be better the the blunt thing the local hire shop hires out. Has anyone any experience with these? It's going to need the teeth sharpening over the weekend and i'm wondering would it be best to send them to someone else to sharpen? Ideally i'd rather do them myself so if anyone could advise the best way to go about it, it would be much appreciated.

    Cheers

    Martin
