  1. Hi all,

     

    I'm new here, but wondering if someone can ID this for me? Didn't have a camera with me so don't have a picture of the tree itself - a large, old, gnarly and very beautiful tree on the edge of beech woods in Oxfordshire.

     

    The leaves look like bay leaves, but are not as glossy, and do not smell like bay leaves.
