    When I forst completed my first course I need 100 hours practice before I could sit my assessments. I found the local wildlife/environmental voluntary groups useful, up here the Scottish Wildlife Trust have insurance for all their sites including chainsaw usage. Most of these groups have plenty of volunteer manpower but are appreciative of skilled or semi skilled help. In most cases I was given a very reasonable monetary reward to cover 'expenses', I had my saw all my PPE and few other bits and pieces but gained some very worthwhile experience. Might be worth a go?
