Has anyone gone through this scheme?
I like the idea of getting an apprentice on board and wondered what people's thoughts were.
-
Will it have been the last fill up that did the damage or could it have been from weeks ago?
-
Right cheers for that, I was sceptical all sounded too cheap and easy.
Might be back to Spud then or Chinese replacement.
-
That's what he said a hone type thing.
Not the answer then ?
-
Unfortunately I can't afford a Spud fix
So have a mechanic friend who says he can clean out the cylinder with a tool he has and I've bought a piston.
Once it's fitted I'll let you know how she runs.

I see what your saying but can't really see how it would be the companies fault, it wasn't scored when they sold it to me.
Getting the saw sent away for testing then taking them to small claims court is not really going to be worth all the hassle and will end up costing more than a repair.

Hi Eddie
Cheers for the thought, can you pm me your best prices please.
Do people run all their saws on aspen or just the top handles or just the big saws ?
Thanks
-
Where do you buy them from eddy?
eBay?
-
No way! That's good service.
-
-
Yes that's one plan but I've been reading about cleaning them up as an option
-
Cheers Alec, I've been assured that it's poor fuel/mix. The spark plug was black on one side and biscuity on the other.
That oem seems a very cheap fix. Is it better than the Chinese ones?
-
I've been reading up that he's the man. I'll pm, thanks

I saved up all my pennies last year and bought myself a shiny new 372xp.
Been using it 4 months and I cut out mid cut this week. Took it to my local shop where I bought it and they've told me the cylinder and piston are knackered through scoring on the exhaust side and the rings have seized on the piston. He reckoned it was bad fuel or bad mix.I was quoted £450 to repair it.
We always measure out the mix carefully and try to avoid supermarket petrol.
Anyway I was hoping somone could point me in the direction of a cheaper way of getting it fixed.
Thanks in advance

Hi
I'd be very interested.
It's funny I put a post up on here just after it happened and got shot down by folk saying it wasn't needed.
There are plenty good folk willing to offer their time for free.
Really hope this works for you and if there's anything I can do to help please don't hesitate.

That sounds like a good thing.
I was thinking more along the lines of tree work though. Wind blown, trees on houses over power lines etc.
-
I was wondering if anyone does or has done this. I'd like to spend my holidays doing this.
If anyone has any info or contacts I'd be very grateful.
Thanks

Nope got away clear
