  1. Thanks for the comments guys.the golfer bear is for to a local golf corse and is being put by the club house and the owl was my first ever stump carving designed by the customer. The herons my second stump carving done for prestbury parish council.i should have more pics of sum of the events I done this year but sadly my phone broke and lost all my pics : (

Thanks for the comments guys and the event was at the Trentham estate in stoke where up until 2 weeks ago I worked for 8 years but left for a job with a tree company in ruggely I left on good terms and have a 2 day event at the end of march so hopefully will try a few bigger pieces and sell some of my wrk and looking to make the event an annual event may be getting a couple more carvers involved

  3. Thanks guys and norfolk yeah it's oak but not sure if its red oak or sessile and its was cut about 12 months ago n quite nice 2 carve only problem is 90 ./. Of the wood I can get my hands on has shake so a few cracks but keep it oiled and its not 2 bad.and good to practice with as its not cost much : )

  4. Thanks guys and that's a good 1 norfolkngood I'm not sure on that the reason I've put it in the water is because the base was splitting quite badly as it dryed out. Its gt shake so not expecting it to last 4 ever any way. The wood hasn't gt any fungi ( yet) and fungi cant attact in water due to the lack of oxegen?ive also treated it with linseed oil
