  1. Oh im no expert really, if you're right then i doubt they'd need to completely replace the content, im not sure how much a small change would change the page's relationship with google. It doesn't much matter - the url has been submitted to google and yahoo and so i assume that when someone takes it over to have a "proper go" of it, eventually it'll appear up the rankings. As it is, its second on the list for google places. I'm not trying to make a million here. I just don't want my time and effort to have been in vain when someone else could make it into something better because im doing other things. To be perfectly honest, I would almost give it away (but not quite!) if it would help someone along.
  2. No worries, I appreciate your input! The search terms for google are changeable, as are the site's details on google places. Also I would expect the person to take up the website to want to change and modify the content to what they want.
  3. Cool, just put it up on arbtrader if anyone's interested: Firewood business for sale ArbTrader Arborists Classifieds
  4. Thanks for the responses! Yeah, I know its not ideal if someone on the other end of the country took it over as they wouldn't get the (few) clients I have. But still. I wasn't even expecting £500 for it, I thought maybe a £250 or so. Regarding google rankings, it comes quite high up the page now (e.g put logs maidstone into google), i would hope as it gets more traffic this would get better. I'll pop an ad up on arbtrader then I think and see if I get any interest! It would seem a shame to waste it. Cheers!
  5. Wow, thanks for the responses! I wasn't expecting so many! It really is tiny. The url is Glowfire Logs. So far I've turned over about £1k, maybe just under. I suppose what its worth is the name (which I thought was quite good ), web address, email, and "brand" i guess. I thought maybe it might appeal to "Dave who does logs" who wants a better image. I dont know, maybe im just being naive and it is worthless! Thanks for the replies though!
  6. Hi guys, So here's the thing, a couple of months ago since finishing uni I started selling logs, buying in the cord and then selling the logs in bags. I set up a website, its on google and google places and I've had a few sales through ebay. But I just don't have time anymore. Plus my supplier of cord has disappeared. I spent quite a bit of time setting up the website and web presence etc - it seems a shame to waste it. So is it possible to sell this? Where/how on earth would I go about it? I was thinking of putting an ad on here somewhere maybe? I wouldn't be looking for much, just a token so that I don't feel I wasted my time. Thanks for any advice!
  7. Oh right, do you mean as part of arbtalk, or an external website?
  8. Hi guys, This is my first post, but I’ve been hanging around as a guest for a while! Anyway, I’ve had an idea for a website (actually in the middle of making it now) for an online marketplace mostly for people wanting to buy and sell cordwood in the north of England, Wales and Scotland - a bit like what Woodlots does in the south I guess. It’ll be a bit different though, with a section for turners, maybe a place to advertise haulage etc. It’ll be free to post on it - I’ll probably try and get back costs through advertising/donations. But what do you guys think? Would people visit and post on it? Is there a need for this sort of thing? What would you like to see on there? Cheers!
