Hello everyone. I’m hoping someone can help me out with a problem with my 540 XP. It’s 3 or 4 years old and every summer, since I bought it, it plays up in the heat/summer sun. It won’t idle and is very difficult, if not impossible, to re-start without setting the choke to half choke/throttle. Fuel moisture can be seen around the gap where the air filter sits. The tank is getting pressurised and it seems to be flooding.
I do basic maintenance but am not really up for more complicated repairs and investigations. My local dealer doesn’t allow pre-booking for repairs and I really don’t want it to go in and just sit there for a week or two before they look at it. There is another dealer that is a wizard when it comes to chainsaw etc but they are an hour drive away. I’m not trying to avoid paying a dealer, I just hoping someone can save me a fairly big inconvenience.
I’ve attached a screenshot from an American site that discussed the problem.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!!
Thanks all
David

I had heard from a friend how impressed he was with Gusharts customer service when he had a Pfanner warranty issue. Based on that I bought from them and when I too had a minor warranty claim they were brilliant. It’s refreshing to receive such good after sales service and I will be buying more from them in future as a result. I thought I would post as I have heard stories of poor after sales service from other retailers.

Hello. Has anyone got experience of Rotatech blades? I found an old post together with 3 or four replies. Most said they had no problems but one post said that someone he knew had a blade shatter. Obviously there could have been a reason unrelated to the blades being defective and the reply was not from the person directly affected. It would be reassuring to hear from people that actually use them. They are a bit cheaper than the Timberwolf ones (we all like to save a bob or two) but naturally I don’t want to save money at the risk of having one or both shatter and end up causing a lot of damage and expense to my chipper. In case it matters I have a little TW125PH chipper. Any replies from Rotatech users will be much appreciated.
