Hi people,
I am moving to Stavanger in Norway for at least three months this summer (heading out mid june). I am moving to Stavanger because I have accommodation sorted there (girlfriend's parents )
Im a climber and consultant with approximately 3/4 years experience in England and Australia. I have the usual tickets and an Honors Degree in Arboriculture.
Does anyone have or know of any useful contacts in the Stavanger area?
Are there any obvious differences between the Arb scene in the UK and Norway?
Finally,
Whats the word for Arborist in Norwegian???
Im grateful for any info on the matter.
Regards,
Joel Ashton

I think a good start would be to learn how to spell Tree Surgeon properly. But good luck to you mate, I did some freebie work for a company for experience and it payed off...literally!

I went to Myerscough to do the Bsc arb. Degree. It is the highest qualification in the arb industry other than a masters on top...or until they make another. It was a very comprehensive degree covering mainly the biology of trees and plants. If I did it again, I would do the foundation degree only as the final year was directed at the more laboratory/research industry. My boss in Australia did it online and it seemed great online too. It's also great for winning contracts!
