I also have broken 2 other wrist bones but don't think they are too serious, think scaphoid is the main one. Is does hurt a lot at the moment, going to get done good physio after it settles down a bit. Don't want to rush it, but want to get climbing ASAP, oh well these things happen, didn't think it would be such a awkward little bone to break, but cheers for all your replies!

Thanks for all the response bit of reassurance as people say they can be awkward to heal etc, I have had it pinned, I also dislocated my wrist but that's back in now Ha yes I also did it in a bike had a motocross accident got spat off mid air, think bike has come off worse though haha They have said 6 weeks which I kind of expected, although I want it to be right, just happy to know that it won't effect my climbing in the future Cheers!

Hi there, I had a little accident yesterday and have fractured my scaphoid, also got some ligament damage. Has anyone had a similar injury? Does it affect your climbing? Just wanted to know how long I would be looking at recovering from this. Cheers!

got sorted out with the tree climbers guide 3rd edition now, so will be busy reading that now. I will have a look at the books and sites mentioned. Rob, i just wanted something that would assist me with my climbing mainly, to help me get through it a bit easier Thanks

Just after buying a few books that would be handy, i have got my cs 38 and 39 coming up in april, and have just done my cs 30/31. I just want a head start and to gain some knowledge that will help me on my course and afterwards. cheers

Thanks DN. I will take your advice, seems sensible to get someone who knows what they are doing. Im not fully decided yet, although its something im deffinatly considering, after speaking to local firms they haven't got the work to take someone on full time. Cheers

It would probably be spraying etc, and could also pick up abit of work from where im at now to fall back on. Just keeping my options open, whilst trying to fund futher training. Just working out if its feasible or not. Cheers

Just had my assessment today, all went really well. Was worried for some Reason but I don't know why. All the nptc assessors seem to make you at ease and get the best out of you! I loved everyminute of this week! Just booking my 38/39 now so things are sweet! In the York area do anyone wanting a hand im looking for work! Cheers

Yeh i am deffinatly in a muddle. Trying to get my head around it. I see what your saying now about paying less tax at the end of the year. On one website where i have read it says you can claim for the full costs of that vehicle, which means? I did think it was too good to be true with the 45p a mile, how does that actually work then? Sure it will all come togeether. No, sorrry, i might of worded it wrong, I know i could get enough work if i went as a subbie, which is why im considering it. Considering going self employed as a subbie, as i have come across a good opportunity. However, I can't get my head around self emplyed tax, and expenses etc. My main curiosity is that travel expenses. It says 45pence per mille for the first 10,000 miles and 25 there after or a fixed rate, think its 60%. Now I would be doing around 100 miles per day travelling to and from the place of work. Would I be able to claim 45p per mile on this? Would work out at £45 a day, seems like an awful lot to say i would only be using £20 worth of fuel? I would run a small van (VW Caddy) therefore fuel wouldn't be much. If this is correct then it would help me out so much. Also could I claim for PPE for example chainsaw trousers, boots etc? and also could I get anything for training? obviously work related? Are there any more perks. Just after some advice and more clear info. Thanks in advance
