I would just like to take the time to thank Tom Belton (Forsmw) or TomTom on here for advising and supplying us with a Farma 9T with a 6.3m Crane which is way better than we expected for the money and came in considerably cheaper and with better spec than equivalent second hand trailers.
If anyone is thinking of buying a new forwarding trailer, BigAb or grapple etc then i would give him a try you will not be disappointed!
Anyway Cheers Tom For All Your Help

I have a uniforest 80 pto winch. Good winch you will be surprised at what you can pull with it. Only problem was that I had to cut 10m of the rope as it was a nightmare to pull out. Here is a few pics I put on here http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/picture-forum/29349-oak-stuck-pond-today.html
Was yours fitted with the 90m?

It would appear I've upset you, that really was not my intention:001_rolleyes:
How you find my post "antagonising" is beyond me:confused1: you must have lead a very sheltered life.
If you reread my post you will see I was not telling you what to do, just pointing out that as Nick says trying to control your local market is a none starter.
This is a "discussion" forum, so if you post anything you have to expect people to express opinions.
Your Avatar says it all!

Same here; won't sell cord to my neighbours.
Fair play to you, i dont know the reasons you have for this but you must have them so i respect and trust that you have made the best decision for you and your company!
See its that easy not to antagonise people who have made a decision based on what is best for them.
-
Trouble is there's always someone who will deliver in to your next door neighbour.
I did same as you last yr. guy 2 miles from me wanted 2 artic loads cord. I told him I had none available. Week later he had 3 artic loads ash, sycamore delivered in £50 load cheaper than me. And then he told his mate about it 20 miles away no I'd supplied with 3 loads previously and he had 4 loads off same guy.
Ever heard of cutting your nose to spite your face. Take the money and if there local charge them same rate as you would if they were 20 miles away. They will only get it from somewhere else. Your not the only one in country selling cord that's for certain.
I do get your point Nick, but if or when people do get from another source that really is no skin off my nose, im happy with my decision and really wont lose any sleep over it.

We will not sell 26 tonne loads within 10 miles of us, Our core business is firewood and we find that people under cut us on price by quoting 45 pounds a dumpy bag then when delivered they want an extra 10pounds for delivery and an extra 10 pounds to stack, so why should we help them, 26 tonne loads of hardwood are difficult to get in the North east.
When you have been in or are in that position like yourself then you and i both understand why we have to put certain local exclusions on.
Instead of just thinking you know what your on about!
Thank you.

No worries. It's your wood sell it out of county if you want. I doubt you'll be short of buyers, depending on price. Sounds like haulage might kill it.
Thanks Dave

Hey Everyone
Our barn is full to the brim and two other sheds are full to bursting and we are thinking about using a polytunnel or two to store and season wood.
Has or does anyone use them and what are they like? Do they speed up the the process?
Cheers
