  2. Hi garden kit if you were a little closer i would drop a bottle of something in to you for all your kind help in the last few days, you have been brilliant. i have forwarded the details to my friend and he has attempted it but he has come across some problems :-( the first problem the allen key type screws that hold the blade in place are seized solid so he cant get the blade off. the second problem is the centre bottle will not loosen as the main crankshaft keeps spinning he doesn't really know how to block it still so he can try and undo the nut. any ideas?? sorry for taking up loads of your time. regards
  3. Hi Forum i have a friend who needs to replace the blade brake clutch on his hayter 48 mower. Does anyone have any idea if its an easy job to do? if so can someone kindly post some basic instructions and i will pass them on to him. I have had such good advice from this forum on my roller issues i thought i would try and help a friend in need out. thank you forum
  4. Any ideas where is the best place to purchase the parts required for my roller?
  5. Thank you so much for the pics, i managed to pull mine off i am trying to source parts now i have decided to change all the main parts. I am still wondering on how to get the big nut off holding the sprockets in place........ is it just a case of chisel and hammer to free it off?? i am so sorry about all the stupid questions but i do want to try and get it sorted im keen to learn.... once again thank you ps a friend was asking if anyone has a spare intek engine for a hayter 48 pro he has managed to bend the crank on his. If anyone out there has one for sale could you please let me know and i will forward on the details. i think the engine details on his are briggs and stratton 12q502-0133-b1 thank you in advance
  6. Firstly let me say a big thank you to everyone for your kind help!!!! Update on the rear roller saga....... i managed to get the sprocket off with great difficulty i borrowed a puller from a mechanic friend so that i thought was a great result until i couldn't get the the woodruff key off banged away heated it up nothing until it the dam thing sheared off!!!! now i have to work out how to get the remainder out....any ideas??? now i have the shaft out the sprockets seems to be turning ok well i think im no expert but they seem to be turning around ok. can anyone kindly give something to look out for as to why only half the roller was going around??? I have noticed that the sprockets are held into place with a big screw, is it a case of just getting a big wrench on them to undo them?? i also noticed that one of the screw holding the sprockets on the shaft is wound in further than the other could this we causing the problem to one side only spinning?? any further help would be good. thank you
  7. Once again thank you for all your help. Does anyone know if an older style rear roller will fit on this machine??? there are some on flea bay. this way i will eliminate the gearbox all together don't really want to spend unnecessary money on it if there is a problem with it. and i will store the faulty roller for the winter when i have more time to mess about with it as i have tried everything and that sprocket just wont come off :-(
  8. Thanks for your quick replies, the trouble i'm having is removing N-61 the 22 teeth sprocket off the shaft. I have taken everything off the other side so the roller in affect is hanging out one side but not enough to come out.
  9. Hi forum could someone help me please, i am having problems with a hayter 48. I noticed a problem the other day in that the rear roller just kept spinning all the time, but only half the roller was spinning the other half remained still. I decided in my infinite wisdom to remove it and see if anything is stuck, i have got as far as unbolting it from the deck but i cant seem to work out how to remove it from its carriage can anyone help please with some basic instructions ? i have removed all visible cir clips, bolts, chain etc but i just can't get it out there is something rattling around in the roller so i guess something has come apart sheared off etc etc. i can attach pictures if that helps? also there some sort of gearbox on it which i never new was there looks as hough it should have been attached to a cable at sometime in its life if anyone knows what is required to get it working or in fact what it does that would be great to. the model is a 488s by the way thank you in advance.

  14. Hi forum could anyone give me an idea as to the correct percentage i should be mixing the fuel up for a husqvarna 55 chainsaw please. I have read the manual that came with it but i really want to make sure before i fire the old girl up. The way i read it is, 1 stihl oil shot per 5 litres of unleaded is that correct i have attached the literature on the manual. Any info would be good as i am new to this level of saw, been using a ryobi saw up until now. (only use it for cutting fire wood up) thanks in advance
