I think i prefer the 1x37 hakki pilki or our 2x . I dont think I could loose the powered in feed conveyor especially with 3m metre 300mm stuff.

Thanks for getting a video sorted, didn't expect it to be as fast a system as it is.
You most be well chuffed having built that as well. Good job mate.
Tell me, is the chainsaw automatic when you tilt it, or do you have to engage a hydraulic lever for it to cut? Looks like it could be, but couldn't be sure from the footage.
Awh no bother.
Yep i have to engage a hydraulic lever to start the chainsaw.
it is the tallest of the levers on the very left hand side of the person operating the chainsaw

That looks some tool would love to see it in action.

In principal the less moving parts the better but speed control isn’t the issue, you want as much speed as you can get, gearing up the output of a low speed motor may be a better option than a more expensive high speed motor.Looking forward to seeing this in action as well.Count me in - how about a youtube of it workingGot a video up of it working go to firewood processors to see it! it is at the bottom of the page
-
Did you get any footage of her in action yet Ferguson mate?

Looking good, how powerful is the splitter? is it gravity feed?
Not sure what ton the splitting ram is but it will go through anything
Not sure wat you mean about gravity feed but i think it is. I cut the ring of timber and then it drops down into the splitter

How much was it for the steel?
Dont really no i had alot of the stuff lying around

If i was building the saw again i wood prob try it a different way. like it works fine but i wood try getting a cheaper motor ( doesnt need to have all them RPM's ) and gear it up with a belt and pully system or chain and sprocket, but a big pully on the hydraulic motor and a small pully on the chainsaw shaft and a belt between them. sumthin like that
-
what about making one
-
The motor for the chainsaw alone is costly! How much did you pay for yours?
payed £250 for a reconditioned one
