  2. Hi all

Been having some problems with our 440zx pto chipper.

Feed in rollers work when there is no timber being pulled in but as soon as it is fed and has to do some work the electric box on the side seems to lose power and rollers stop working.

When branches are removed the thing ticks over alright again. I'm thinking it will be a new control box.

It's fed from tractor electrics and all connections seem alright.

Interested to know thoughts and where I'd find another box!!

    Cheers!!

  3. Hi all

Just priced up a beech removal that will be happening in about 4wks

It's about 3ft diameter and 30ft in length.

Seems criminal to chog it up for firewood. Anybody interested and ideas of what I should be selling it for?

    Cheers

  4. Hi all

We've got a job coming up in Coventry dropping 50 or so Pops and need to stack the timber tidy. Job is in a field so we need to hire in a tractor and timber trailer.

Anybody in the area interested? Work is scheduled to take place start of July.

    Would estimate 4/5 days work.

    Cheers

  5. Thanks all

Some interesting points there that ill take on board and some shite ones which I'll ignore:biggrin:

Had a call from a chap who seems keen to work alongside us so looking forward to getting it all up and running.

    Will keep you posted.

Off to tickle some apple trees now....

  6. Hi All

Had a customer get in touch with us to do some arb work. Not a problem as thats our bread and butter.

He also has 100 acres of woodland he wants us to help manage as it's been neglected for years. Larch, Beech, Ash and a general mix of well established trees.

We are keen to do the work over a 3/5 year period which the client has agreed to as and when funds allow.

We are hoping to offset some of the felling works with the sale of the timber. Anyone give me advice on price for standing timber or stacked at roadside etc etc.

Work is in Buckingham and we're in Manchester so we'd have to stay away.

    Interested to know peoples thoughts!!

    Thanks in advance!

    Paul

  7. Afternoon all

Just wondering if anyone could offer some advice. I've a 440zx pto chipper that seems to engage hydraulics when it feels like it. I've tried it at 540 and this is when it works intermittently.

I'm going to change the pto shaft to 1000 today. Anyone think this will help? Is it ok to run the chipper at this speed?

The control box on the chipper shows a speed of 800. I guess this is flywheel speed?

    Any info much appreciated!

    Thanks

    Paul

  8. Hi all

Got a job in North Manchester next week and could do with a 6 inch track timberwolf or jensen (must be pretty narrow). Can get one off a guy in Chester but wondering if anyone more local might want to hire their machine for a day? With or without operator not really bothered. Decent machine only please, don't have time for breakdowns!!!

Please contact with prices on 07882 995429

    Cheers
