  1. I am in the scheme and have looked to get out of it but since I do site clearance then the company I work for deducts it. I asked them to do it a different way due to work we do . They replied either accept it or don't work for them... Don't matter if its tree clearance, its how they work....

  2. That's as may be but it will bring work to a halt on some sites, even when a bird nesting survey has cleared the work to proceed. As the lady says in the video it's rooks and magpies that nest high in trees, and these are protected under the legislation which was designed to halt the decline in songbird species (wrongly thought out legislation as it's habitat and food source loss in dairy and arable areas that's the root cause.

That be the same lady who will be twistin when tree falls in her garden or its blocking the sun from her patio!!! bloody hipocracy from the idiots

  3. A nest site is a nest site, regardless of the species. When we did our unit 5 training, we were told that a bird sitting in a tree with a twig in its' mouth, classes that tree as an active nest site.

I can never work out the general hatred for corvids :confused1: We wipe out so many small birds with our hedge removal, house building, farming practices etc etc, but somehow by persecuting corvids we make it all better.

It can "inconvenience" the working day, but working with and around nature is all part of this work and just needs working around.

take it your not a farmer or small holder... I am sure if you see the magpies pecking at the newborn lambs you would dis like them, but as normal people put there views across not knowing the full impact that certain things have...

  4. lot of people on here seem to think they would fail or there workmates would fail drugs test.. We constantly have them with doing railway work and sites.. None of my lads have failed as they know they will be out of a job.. If you wanna turn up stoned/pissed then get a job in a call centre

  5. Half the time on the rail we use trees as anchor points..

As has been said network rail are not bothered. I done mine for the rail and found it a waste of time. Network rail look for cheapest option most of the time, so having to pay for a level 3 to set system up goes out of window as too expensive unless was a long term but as for de veg its a waste of time...........................

  6. You can get the qualification by having training and assessment at your own expense but you won't be able to work without a sponsor. As the competencies need renewing every three years with medicals it's not worth doing independently IMO.

All the vegetation companies are competing for workers so they expect to provide training but may expect to be repaid if you leave.

    every 2 years:thumbup1:

  7. just bought a 260 farmi with all the extras on to crane feed.. Had to buy from M large and have it shipped though as corwen were pathetic at communication:thumbdown:

cracking chipper though ,mounted on valtra t150 with roof mount

  8. Gutted, like having your best saw nicked at the start of the season...😅

Think it was expected.. If wales if wales did not pick the players that play in france then it would of been an even bigger loss!!!!!:thumbup1:

  9. To be fair to Greenmech they took away the dealership from a nearby firm because they were not treating customers fairly. They have the power and have used it in the past.

That's fair enough, but my local dealer would do what he could to get you running even if it meant taking a part off his own machines.. You can ask anyone up in the north:thumbup1:

  10. Down to greenmech to be fair.. They are the one who appointed orange as they would buy a lot of machines for there hire fleet.. Took dealership away from my local dealer olivers, although to be fair to greenmech they have let him order parts as there are times machine would of been down without his help.. As for orange , timberwolf withdrew there machines and in the short term greenmech will do well, but not in the long term.. Small minded buisness
