  1. If this thread is still relevant, I have a Solo 650x chainsaw in relatively good condition. I've had it running but could do with some fettling. Open to offers if someone would like this for their collection. PM me on Facebook Brad Hardwidge for details.

  3. Just before Christmas I bought a factory refurbished Husky 445. It came from a company called VM Innovations in Nebraska. I had it shipped to my mother-in-laws in Toronto as we were over there for the festive season and brought it back on the plane. It is like new just a few tiny nicks but you really have to look for them. The best bit is the saw only cost me £126 the shipping to Canada and customs was another £22. I did get pulled at the airport when we were leaving but it was for a Thomas the tank train set

It is quite clean inside for an old saw, I am wondering if someone put it back together wrong had an extra pipe and bunged a screw in it. But the clip around it is making it look like it has a home somewhere but not where I found it.

no only one from the crank case. it's the one that terminates with the screw. The other 2 pipes go to and from the fuel tank

    Solo 650 VA

Greetings tree people. I was given a Solo 650VA saw a while back. After an exhaustive search for someone that would even look at it or for carb parts etc I have decided to take a look myself. I have been able to get it to run by squirting fuel directly into the carb but it seems to have a fuel draw problem. I have checked fuel lines and that the tank is airtight etc. Now I'm more of a diesel Land Rover person myself and 2 strokes with tiny screws and sausage fingers do not mix. Anyhow now that I have disassembled it, and taken the "that will never work again" comment from my wife. I have discovered a third pipe that seems to originate from the crank case. I am guessing this is to either pressurize the fuel tank or create a vacuum in the carb to draw the fuel. But the carb only has 2 locations for connecting hoses and the pipe from the crank case has a screw in the end. So I sit here at my keyboard with petrol soaked oily sawdust on my head from scratching whilst pondering. Hoping that someone can point me in the right direction and prove my pessimistic wife wrong. Thank you in advance Wurzel
