Thanks all,
the land is part of a shoot but rather than plant with shooting in mind i'd like to plant with all wildlife benefiting.
The plants suggested seem to be what i want but the boss will have the final say.
thanks again

Hi all,
have been asked by landowner to plant what i would call a wide hedge to join two woods together, the size is 220yds x 45yds on heavy clay, he wants it kept to 20-30ft once grown so i was considering hazel.
Any ideas

all our heating and hot water is via a woodburner with a saddle boiler, my sons asthma is so much better than when we had gas central heating.

although ours is'nt a clearview its a hunter royale the doors have rope seals all round without these there is no control of air-flow.
We change our seals every year or so or if they look damaged or miss shapen.
Take the matter further sounds iffy to me

Hi all
Just joined and new to tree work, was a full-time game keeper but due to cut backs now only part-time, not all bad news as the landowner has given permission for me to maintain the woods(mainly chestnut) and sell the wood to make the money up so i will doubtless be asking a host of questions.
the first one is how to change my landrover 110 truck to the limited use tax so any help or advice anyone give will be gratefully recieved
Cheers Keeper
buying in wood for logs

Hi all,
This has been my first season selling logs and with the weather we've had this winter demand has far out stripped supply, so i'm after imformation on buying in hard wood which i can cut and split and therefore give myself a head start.
If anyone can advise me on the pro's and cons and the likely delivery costs
and if anyone knows of suppliers and shippers in kent/east sussex area.
Cheers
