Awesome stuff!

I'm using a zigzag with blue tongue rope. For some reason it's slipping occasionally when I'm ascending. Any ideas why its doing it or any one experience it?

Carl this isn't aimed at any one it's based on a conversation I had with a guy last week who claimed to be a tree surgeon yet he didn't have a qualification to his name I just ask people's opinions.

Will who are you aiming this at? I have a very good idea who it is. But the point i like to get across is i have been doing this for only seven years. I ok at climbing. No employer has every complained about my skills and my knowledge. Also i have lots of CS tickets but i dont class my self as a tree surgeon. I class my self as a tree climber. If that makes sense.

Seven years on November 21st when I past my climbing tickets. So not long.

If you consider yourself a good climber,then its time to look elsewhere mate.

We'll the boss I work for has said today like or lump. I can t afford to give you a pay rise. But he can afford to pay a grass cutter the same money.

So I earning the boss roughly the same as the grass cutter. (Profit)

It's seems I'm not quick enough up the tree and I don t earn the boss enough money. To be on more money.

If you can only go 3mph behind a self propelled mower. What's a awesome grass cutter going to improve it? Where a tree climber can't?

An awesome grass cutter will earn his boss more than an average climber, it's all about what the individual is worth or what an employer can get away with paying.

employed, so holiday etc its actually 120 but i get a pickup to use as mine, only pay for fuel, so reckon thats worth a tenner a day. But only got the offer when i said i was leaving, had to except it!

That's very good pay. I get £120 a day freelancing at weekend. So your on a winner there:thumbup1:

When I got offer a job at a local authority a couple of years ago it was about £9.50 a hour then. But I when abroad instead.

in some places the guy walking around with a blower behind the grass cutters earns more than some climbers

Im a climber and on 130 a day and the grass cutters are on 75 a day

not get into a debate is it worth more than climbing trees. i cut grass use a ride on to say anyone can use one is a bit off mark got to know what you are doing with a zero turn ride on when cutting in tight areas same with strimming easy to break a window if not doing it right hence i have a certificate to use one. plus making sure there are no tide marks left when cutting in lines. have to keep mower dead in line just overlapping last cut.

more so with a cylinder mower.

But give a bloke with common sense a week he would get it would he?

Actually yes there is a vacancy going live soon for landscaper/ trainee arb monkey after much battling though most of the lads are on between £10.85-£12.75 now
